Commendation Conference for Experiment and Demonstration of UHV Engineering Project of the State Grid

On February 25th, President Liu Jizhen attended the Commendation Conference for Experiment and Demonstration of UHV Engineering Project of the State Grid, at which NCEPU was honored as "Unit with Excellent Contribution to Experiment and Demonstration of UHV Engineering Projects of the State Grid", and AcademicianYang Qixun and Professor Cui Xiang were conferred the honor "Experts with Excellent Contribution to Experiment and Demonstration of UHV Engineering Projects of the State Grid".

 

 

 

    Since January 6th, the 1,000 KV UHV project (running from southeast Shanxi through Nanyang to Jingmen) had been put to use, which was designed, developed and built by we Chinese with independent intellectual property. This power transmission and transformation project with the highest voltage and best technology in the world marked a major breakthrough in core technology and equipment localization of the production of long-distance, large volume and low consumption, which is of great significance to energy safety and reliable power supply in China. Leaders in the State Council affirmed the significance of this project.

 

 

 

    In recent years, with regard to the needs of the major scientific strategy in China, NCEPU integrates scientific resources to improve scientific innovation, adopts the strategy of "University-Enterprise Cooperation", puts forward the policy of "building platform, enhancing service, emphasizing innovation to realize mutual benefit" with enterprises, and lays special emphasis on cooperation with large and medium power enterprises with the State Grid as the core.

 

 

    Ever since the construction of this extra-high-voltage project with state approval in 2006, NCEPU paid close attention and offered great support to the project by actively cultivating talents in UHV relay protection, key technology in automation and FACTS technology based on new electric and electronic components control, which provided great support in science and talent supply for the smooth construction and operation of this extra-high-voltage project.
