Liu Yandong, member of the Political Bureau of the Party´s Central Committee, state councilor and vice chairman of BOGC, sent a letter of congratulation for the 50th anniversary of NCEPU on October, 2008. Following is the whole letter.

    People who is concerned in NCEPU / All faculties and students of NCEPU,

    On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of NCEPU, I would like to extend warm congratulation and heart-felt greeting to all faculties, students and overseas alumni.

    Ever since the foundation of NCEPU 50 years ago, this university has cultivated a number of special talents of high quality and made significant contribution to the power industry in China by implementing the education policy of the Party and sticking to socialism. Since the reform and opening up is carried out, NCEPU has made outstanding achievements in talent cultivation, scientific research, social service and discipline construction and laid a firm foundation for building a high-level university by basing on practice, exploitation and innovation, and sticking to the school-running policy.

    I hope that you can implement the scientific development view and improve the comprehensive strength and core competence of the university while implementing the spirit of the 17th People’s Congress, holding high the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics under the guidance of Deng Xiaoping´s Theory and "Three Represents” so as to make greater contribution to the implementation of the power industry development strategies, the creation of an innovative country and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
