After three days on-the-spot investigation on Beijing Campus and two days on Baoding campus, Engineering Education Accreditation Experts Group of MOE completed their accreditation assessment work through reviewing related materials, listening to the reports, investigating labs and organizing symposiums. On the afternoon of May 30, group leader and academician Wu Cheng represented their group to give NCEPU evaluation feedback that “electrical engineering and the automation” and “automation” majors are evaluated as qualified.

After 5 days’ intensive work, experts reached a written agreement and gave positive comments on the school-running characteristics and cultivation goals of NCEPU. As it was reported, with the support of NCEPU and the schools, the above mentioned majors as parts preponderant disciplines of “211” project construction gradually formed a teaching system with definite cultivating goals which integrated teaching and research, theory and practice and engineering ability cultivation into a whole. Now NCEPU is an important base and has cultivated a great number of advanced talents of engineering technique and management for our country. Therefore, experts group agreed this accreditation validity period to be six years and would report this to MOE.

On the feedback communication conference, experts firmly affirmed the advantages of the above majors in aspects of school-running conditions, faculty quality, teaching material quality, high-quality curriculums design, experimental teaching, quality assessment system, graduates employment. Meanwhile, they put forward many crucial suggestions like: to increase the proportion of engineering design in thesis, to invite more enterprise experts to take part in the assessment, to increase education funds investment to adapt to the needs of power industry development, and to build institutionalized system for graduates tracking and feedback. Leaders of NCEPU and the schools all played great emphases on these suggestions. Vice-president An Liansuo pointed out that this accreditation was not only an exam of these two majors, but also brought opportunities for further development and we will make up our disadvantages and build a sound foundation for the next accreditation.
