President Liu Visited Students from Earthquake-Stricken Areas on Baoding Campus

     (From Baoding Campus) On the night of May 14th, President Liu, together with Mi Zengqiang (assistant to the President), Guo Xiaofeng (deputy director of Students’ Affairs Division), Chen Zhi (deputy director of School Office), Li Dong (deputy secretary of Commission of the Communist Youth League of China), visited students’ apartments and conveyed their concern and consolation to the students from earthquake-stricken areas.

 

    President Liu called at No.17 and No. 8 Student Apartments. In Room 306 of No.8 Student Apartment, President Liu expressed his heartfelt concern to two students of School of Laws whose hometowns are earthquake-stricken areas. Knowing that they both had got in touch with their families who were all safe and sound, he asked the two students to convey his best regards to their families. He also encouraged students to study in peaceful mind to make their families, university and our country feel at ease.

 

    President Liu stated that our university would, under the guidance of the government, carry out a series of activities to help those students whose hometowns are suffering from deadly earthquake. And for those whose families are under great damages, our university would provide support in all respects. Meanwhile, he called on all the students to help them. He also confirmed university students’ concern to the earthquake-stricken areas, and encouraged us to devote the enthusiasm to the study and practice so as to make greater progress.

    The number of students from earthquake-stricken areas on Baoding campus is 283 in total. By now, all of them have got in touch with their families. Fortunately, all their family members are safe and only a minority of them has suffered from property loss in varying degrees.
