 Notice on an Open Selection of a Vice-president of

North China Electric Power University

    North China Electric Power University (NCEPU), as a key university in China, is affiliated with the Ministry of Education of China and officially listed as one of the “211 Project” universities. NCEPU is composed of two respective campuses in Beijing and Baoding, with its main campus in Beijing. Currently, NCEPU is working hard towards its goal of becoming a multidisciplinary, research-oriented and an internationally renowned higher education institute. To meet the work demand, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, a position of vice-president will be filled through an open selection.

 
    I.     Position description for the vice-president
    The vice-president will be in charge of the discipline construction and foreign affairs of NCEPU.
 
   II. Requirements and qualifications for the position
    A. Basic requirements
    1. He must adhere to the leadership of the Communist Party of China, uphold the socialist path and socialist theoretical system with Chinese characteristics, and implement the scientific concept of development. He must be law-abiding and have the passion for higher education and carry a strong sense of dedication and a high degree of responsibility.
    2. He must be familiar with university-related work and be credited with the ability of leadership, management, coordination, and decision-making with rich experience in administrative management and an outstanding work performance. And he must be open-minded and have innovative ability and team spirit.
    3. He must devote himself to the work and serve the university full-heartedly and impartially.
    4. He must keep the democratic centralism and respect the decisions by the party committee and work for the University President. And he must be democratic, clean and honest with a strong overall concept.
    B. Qualifications
    1. He must have a doctoral degree and be a professor with work experience in full-time colleges and higher education administration.
    2. He must have overseas study or work experience.
    3. He must be well-established in his field.
    4. He should have a sound body and be under 50 years old (born after January 1, 1962). Age may not be a limit for the distinguished candidates.
 
    III. Selection procedures
    After the notice on “Open Selection of the Vice President of North China Electric Power University” is made public, there will be some propaganda. And the nominees will be decided among applicants and those being recommended. They will make their presentations and undergo a democratic recommendation and assessment before the pick. And then the winner will pass an observation and wait for the last approval.
 
    IV. How to apply

    B. Applicants must mail the materials including forms, resumes, copies of academic degrees and professional certificates and appropriate photos to the ministry organization of the Party Committee of NCEPU through postal service or emails before the deadline Sept. 12, 2011 at 17:00.

    V. Other issues
    These applicants who have passed the qualification examination and preliminary selection will be notified to attend an interview in the university. NCEPU will pay transportation and accommodation for those who travel far from outside Beijing.
