The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Embassy in China Assigned Ambassador Plenipotentiary Yahya?Zedor to Visit North China Electric Power University

On the morning of May 27, accompanied by China’s special envoy on the Middle East Wu Sike and the cultural attaché at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Embassy to China Saleh· Shawgerry, ambassador plenipotentiary Yahya · Zedor assigned by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Embassy in China visited NCEPU. 

    Secretary of the leading Party group at NCEPU Wu Zhigong, Vice President Li Chengrong, and both Director Liu Yongqian and Vice Director Duan Chunming of the International Cooperation Department met the delegation at the conference room on the 9th floor in the main building.    
    First, on behalf of the whole university, Secretary Wu gave a warm welcome to the arrival of ambassador Yahya · Zedor and his party, and expressed heartfelt gratitude to China’s special envoy on the Middle East Wu Sike for his continuous support and assistance. Secretary Wu emphasized that the exchange would provide better opportunities for both parties and hoped that both sides could hold a good conversation on cooperation matters so as to receive a satisfactory result.
    Then, ambassador Yahya · Zedor said that he was happy to be here at North China Electric Power University and thanked special envoy Wu for his great contributions to the friendship between China and Saudi Arabia. He pointed out that since both China and Saudi Arabia are counties with abundant cultural heritage, people from both countries could learn from each other so as to conduct further exchange and cooperation on the basis of promoting mutual understanding. At present, both China and Saudi Arabia have been sending students to each other, which, he believed, could further deepen the relationship between the two peoples.
    Then, Vice President Li Chengrong introduced the basic situation of NCEPU to ambassador Yahya · Zedor. He gave a general idea about NCEPU on all rounds, such as the history, faculty, discipline system, scientific and research and talent cultivation.
    Attaché Salhe · Shawgarry expressed his gratitude later for NCEPU’s invitation. He said that previously, universities in Saudi Arabia had some cultural and educational exchanges with some universities in China; but now it has been exchanges on energy power that dominates the urgent position. He hoped that there could be more and better communications and cooperation between NCEPU and Saudi Arabia’s universities.
    At the ceremony, Secretary Wu exchanged gifts with ambassador Yahya · Zedor.

    Eventually, accompanied by Secretary Wu and Vice President Li, ambassador Yahya · Zedor looked around the campus and later visited the key laboratory of Beijing— the Laboratory of High Voltage and Electromagnetic Compatibility
