President Liu Jizhen Met with Doctor Robert Williams from Princeton University

At 10 am on October 21st, President of NCEPU Liu Jizhen met with Doc. Robert, senior researcher of environmental institute in Princeton University, in the room for distinguished guests in the main building. Prof. Xu Hong, President of the School of Energy and Power Engineering, Associate Professor Liu Yongqian, Director of International Cooperation Department, Prof. Zhang Kai from the School of Renewable Energy, and Prof. Zhang Haiping from the School of Energy and Power Engineering also attended the meeting.

    President Liu extended a warm welcome to Doctor Robert Williams and made a brief introduction of NCEPU. He pointed out that energy and electricity disciplines were specialties of NCEPU. Nowadays, with the increasingly serious global energy and environmental issues, which was listed by, NCEPU as a key research area. NCEPU sincerely hope to establish long-term and pragmatic relationship with Environment Research Institute, Princeton University.

    In 1962, Robert Williams obtained bachelor’s degree in Physics from Yale University, and got doctoral degree from University of California–Berkeley n 1967,. At present, he is the leader of Research Group of Energy System and Policy Analysis, Environment Research Institute, Princeton University, engaging in the research of energy efficiency, gas turbine, fuel cell, renewable energy, nuclear power, integrated energy-generation systems, CO2 capture and storage, and energy policy, etc. Doc. Liu Guangjian from NCEPU is now doing research on multi-cogeneration energy systems under his guidance.

    Robert Williams expresses his thanks for the reception, and he hoped to establish further cooperation with NCEPU in areas of CO2 mitigation of conventional power plant, integrated energy-generation systems and coal chemical technology.

    With the accompany of Prof. Xu Hong and Director Liu Yongqian, Robert Williams visited the Power Plant Simulation Central Laboratory.
