2017 NCEPU Commencement and Degree Awarding Ceremony for Undergraduates

North China Electric Power University held commencement and degree awarding ceremony for undergraduates in Beijing and Baoding campus on June 28 and June 29 respectively, bidding farewell to 5351 undergraduates and 1054 graduates.

 

 

The university leaders, Zhou Jian, Yang Yongping, He Hua, Li Shuangchen, Hao Yingjie, Sun Zhongquan, Wang Zengping, Wang Qinghua, Guo Xiaofeng, Lyu Fangcheng, Tan Qinliang, president assistant, Mi Zengqiang, responsible persons in relevant functional departments, deans of schools and all the graduate students of 2017 attended the ceremony.

 

 

University leaders presented the diplomas to the representatives of the graduates, awarded the honorary certification for honoring students and worn ribbon for volunteers in the western region students.

 

 

Yang Yongping, president of NCEPU, pointed out in his speech titled Be the Commitments of the Time that students left solid footprints in NCEPU with passion and personalities. Among undergraduates, 1597 of them have become graduates, 299 of them will study abroad and 2393 of them are about to go to work. Furthermore, 989 students have joined Communist Party of China, 5 students won the President's Scholarship, 217 students won the National Scholarship, 263 students were titled “outstanding Students” of Beijing and Hebei. During school days, the doctoral graduates published 6 papers per capita, and among them the indexed papers is 4. Ju Liwei, a doctor student in School of Economics and Management, has published 19 academic papers as the first author, and 10 of the papers were included in SCI database. The maximum IF of his papers is as high as 7.182, turning out to be among the top 1 percent of the most frequently-quoted papers in ESI. He was conferred 3 CS copyrights, and the outstanding achievement awards in soft energy science of National Energy Bureau. He won National Scholarship and Principal's Scholarship for many times. President Yang also said that students have grasped the most beautiful times of their lives and NCEPU is proud of them.

 

 

Then, degree awarding ceremony for 2017 undergraduates was held. Wang Zengping, a vice president of the university, read the Decision of the University Academic Degree Committee to Confer Degrees on Graduate Students of 2017 , 128 students were awarded doctor’s degree in engineering, 21 students were awarded Doctor of Management, 905 students were awarded master’s degrees and 34 foreign students were awarded bachelor’s degrees, 94 students were awarded Bachelor of Economics,106 students were awarded Bachelor of Laws, 104 students were awarded Bachelor of Arts, 75 students were awarded Bachelor of Science, 4095 students were awarded Bachelor of Engineering, 592 students were awarded Bachelor of Administration and 38 students were awarded Bachelor of Fine Arts.

 

 

As a Chairman of the Academic Degree Committee and President of NCEPU, Yang Yongping conferred master’s degrees and bachelor’s degrees on foreign students and students from each school. 

 

 

The graduates stepped onto the stage to accept congratulations from leaders and teachers.
