NCEPU Confucius Institute in Western Kentucky University was Awarded “Advanced Confucius Institute” of the Year 2013

From Dec 6^th to Dec 8^th 2013, the 8^th Confucius Institute Conference was held in China National Convention Center. NCEPU Confucius Institute (CI) in Western Kentucky University (WKU) made the list of “Advanced Confucius Institute”of the Year 2013, which could be regarded as a fruitful achievement of NCEPU and WKU’s bilateral cooperation on CI construction. Vice Premier Liu Yandong awarded medal to NCEPU CI in WKU.
Themed with “Reviewing the past and looking forward to the future”, the 8^th Confucius Institute Conference attracted more than 2000 presidents and deans of Confucius Institutes of 440 Confucius Institutes and 646 Confucius Classrooms from 120 countries and regions. Representatives of China universities which undertook the Confucius Institutes also attended the activity. After a strict evaluation of experts at home and abroad, the 8^th Confucius Institute Conference awarded 28 advanced Confucius Institutes, 5 advanced Confucius Classrooms, 30 advanced individuals and 10 advanced partner schools of China.

NCEPU CI in WKU was built in April 2010. NCEPU signed with WKU in Dec 2011 to construct CI together and gained outstanding achievements over the years:

Served as the important access for local schools and communities to learn Chinese language and culture, NCEPU CI in WKU has strengthened the friendship between the U.S and China and facilitated a closer communication and cooperation between NCEPU and WKU.
