“Path to a Stronger NCEPU”--The Celebration Meeting of NCEPU’s 55th Anniversary Completed Successfully

The fifty-five extraordinary years’ trials and hardships and arduous cultivation is the foundation of NCEPC’s great achievements. At 19:00 of Nov. 17^th, “Path to a Stronger NCEPU”--the grand celebration meeting of NCEPU’s 50^th anniversary opened in the hall of main building. Wu Zhigong, Party Secretary of NCEPU, Liu Jizhen, President, An Liansuo, Vice-president, Li Shuangchen, Deputy Secretary and Disciplinary Official, Hao Yingjie, Deputy Secretary, Yang Yongping, Vice-president, Sun Zhongquan, Vice-president, Zhang Tianxing, Party Committee Standing Committee, Lv Fangcheng and Wang Qinghua, Assistant to the President, Wang Yonggan, Consultant of China Electricity Council and Director of Beijing Alumni Association, Zhang Chengjie, former Deputy General Director of China Guodian Corporation, and hundreds of alumni and students and faculty watched the grand meeting.

Some former leaders and professors also attended the meeting, including Zhang Baoheng, Yang Yiheng, Zeng Wenwen, Sun Guozhu, Mao Chengjue, Guan Cunhe, He Renmu, Ning Wenyu, Zhu Changbao, Peng Zhenzhong, Wang Qingzhao, Liu Ying, Qu Xiuyan, Liu Jiayun, He Hanjun, Wang Zhiming, Wang Jingru and others.

A choreographed video was shown to the audiences first, including the warm hand-painting, “A Bit of NCEU”, drawn by our student, and the old NCEPU and the developing NCEPU, which was full of remembrances and inspirations. “Path to a Stronger NCEPU”, recited by Teacher Xun Zhenfang, started the meeting. It succinctly presented NCEPU 55^th years’ development and the spirits of ceaseless striving for excellence, and contained all the best wishes and blessings for the future of NCEPU.

The joyful dance, “Kuai Le”, played by Faculty Dance Association, the passionate, fresh and enthusiastic songs, “Song of League member”, “Dream Of Land”, “The Story of Time”, “Love” and “Now we dance” sang by Yinling Choir, teachers from Faculty Aiyue Association and our Chinese and foreign students, the dance , “Love Montage” played by Latin Dance Troupe, Street Dance Troupe and Roller-skating Club, ignited the passions of the whole audiences and received warm applauses. Then our students recited “Our Story”.

Pro. Zhang Baoheng, at the age of 90, and his wife were invited on the stage. Pro. Zhang was praised as “Turbine Zhang” by the industry. He said that, “I just teach student the skills of making a living. The students with the knowledge of lighting the turbine and firing boiler can not be taken as intellectuals. The true intellectuals need to strengthen their cultural education.” He hoped that, the students of NCEPU could be capable of self-inspection, self- discipline and self-control, and could strengthen their professional knowledge and cultural knowledge to become senior intellectuals.

Next, the Choir of Students’ Arts Troupe of NCEPU sang their famous song, “Xing Hang”, in the form of semichorus. The teachers and students of Control Science & Computer Engineering Department sang “Tianlu” perfectly. They both showed the fearless spirits and determination of our teachers and students.

The progress of NCEPU is attributed to teaching and administrative staff’s selfless dedications. Lin Biying, a teacher of Control Science & Computer Engineering Department, who has been awarded National Teachers' Morality Advanced Person, Capital Labor Medal, the First Outstanding Teachers of NCEPU and other honours, is just one of the excellent teachers. Teacher Lin hoped that, students of NCEPU should have ideals and integrity, and should explore knowledge unceasingly. They should make alma mater and teachers proud of them, no matter where they are. Deputy Technical Director of Baidu Union R&D Department, Shen Dou, as the student representative, offered a bunch of flowers to Teacher Lin.

“Glowing Red Morningstar Lilies” and “School Song of NCEPU”, sang by teachers and students from Electric & Electronic Engineering Department, expressed our teachers and students’ love for life and our high spirits in constructing high-level university. “Tea for two” conquered the audiences by its professionalism. “San Ta Zuo Zheng”, recited by our alumni, Yao Xuesong and Du Yuting, declared the youth affectionally, witnessed our growth and expressed our wishes. “A Psalm of NCEPU”, the allegro played by Faculty Dance Union of Baoding campus, brought Baoding campus’ teachers and students’ blessings to the school.

“Xiaoyou Fu”, recited by our alumni from Beijing Alumni Association, Tianjin Alumni Association, Hubei Alumni Association and Sichuan Alumni Association together, conveyed their reminisces and blessings to NCEPU.

Our alumnus, Wang Yonggan said that, in fifty-five years, NCEPU worked wonders and created brilliants through trials and hardships, which could be taken as the textbook filled with hopes and brights. He hoped sincerely that, NCEPU would make more achievements.

With melodious traditional music, the artists created many works to convey their ardent wishes for the 55^th anniversary of NCEPU.

President Liu wrote “Path to a Stronger NCEPU and NCEPU Dream” to express his blessings to the 55^th anniversary of NCEPU and best wishes for the future of NCEPU, which won thunderous applause.

The meeting came to its climax with the cheers, “Go, NCEPU!”. The dance “Hu Die Fei”, played by the Choir of Students’ Arts Troupe of NCEPU and the Chooky Dancers, pushed the meeting to another climax through gentle dancing steps and art interpretation of cocoon rebirth.

With the songs and dances of “Sunshine Remix”,school leaders and alumni took photos with the performers. “Path to a Stronger NCEPU”--the grand celebration meeting of NCEPU’s 55^th anniversary completed perfectly.
