On May 4th, 2018, the Visiting Professor Appointment Ceremony was held by the Department of Electrical Engineering at Meeting Room 217, No.1 Teaching Building, Baoding Campus. Professor Neven Duic from University of Zagreb, Croatia, member of Croatian Academy of Engineering, and Professor Joao P. S. Catalao from University of Porto, Portugal were appointed as Visiting Professors of NCEPU. More than 30 people attended the appointment ceremony including Professor Yunpeng Liu, dean of the Department of Electrical Engineering as well as teaching staff and doctoral and master students. The ceremony was hosted by Professor Fei Wang from the Department of Electrical Engineering. Prof. Fei Wang first gave a brief introduction to Prof. Neven Duic and Prof. Joao P. S. Catalao, including their career experience, research interests, academic achievement and cooperative research achievement with NCEPU. Prof. Yunpeng Liu highly evaluated their academic achievement and extended sincere welcome to their joining in NCEPU as Visiting Professors. He hoped that both sides will deepen their cooperation in scientific research and education in the future and believed that with the assistance of both professors, NCEPU will further accelerate its internationalization process in academic research and enhance its international influence on Energy and Power Science and Engineering disciplines, in order to promote the “Double First-class” construction. Later, Prof. Yunpeng Liu awarded the Certificates of Appointment to both professors.
Afterwards, the two newly-appointed Visiting Professors presented speeches respectively. They said that it is a privilege for them to be appointed as Visiting Professors of NCEPU.
