On October 20-22, the 24th Conference on the Electricity Power Supply Industry was held in Xiamen, Fujian. Han Zheng,Vice President of China, attended the opening ceremony of the conference and delivered a speech.

The conference, themed ‘low carbon energy, powering a green future’ was organized by the Association of the Electricity Supply Industry of East Asia and Western Pacific (AESIEAP) and the China Electricity Council (CEC). Our university’s president, Yang Yongping, was invited to attend the conference and deliver a keynote speech.

Yang Yongping highlighted North China Electric Power University’s pivotal role in China's energy sector development. Now, it’s emphasizing talent development for ‘carbon peaking and carbon neutrality’. Key achievements involve adapting to national and industry needs, transforming academic disciplines, and excelling in this field. The university focuses on producing industry-aligned engineers through an innovative ‘three-dimensional integration’ model, setting new standards. It aims to enhance its role in Chinese higher education, aligning with ‘carbon peaking and carbon neutrality’ goals and contributing to China’s energy and Asia-Pacific power industry development.
