Leadership of NCEPU Visited Technical University of Madrid

        From Nov 25^th to Nov 29^th 2013, leadership of NCEPU including An Liansuo, Vice President, Ma Xiaoyong, Director of Talent Office, Du Xiaoze, Associate Dean of Energy and Power Engineering School, and Xu Lingling, Vice Director of International Division paid a visit to Technical University of Madrid (UPM).

        NCEPU delegation exchanged views and suggestions with UPM on further advancing undergraduate exchange, joint cultivation of doctor students, teacher exchange and scientific research cooperation. NCEPU’s undergraduate exchange program with UPM has been included in the outstanding undergraduate programs of China Scholarship Council (CSC). Every year, two undergraduate students will be selected to study in UPM, with CSC sponsoring the round-trip ticket and living expenses. And the joint application with UPM for the international science and technology cooperation program between Chinese and European Governments has already got the approval of Ministry of Science and Technology. Also, UPM provided scholarship to NCEPU doctor students who took part in the joint cultivation in Spain. Several intents of cooperation had been achieved during this communication, including further expanding scientific research cooperation, strengthening the support on doctor joint cultivation and enhancing the management cooperation of undergraduate education.

        NCEPU delegation listened to the work briefing of UPM professors at High Voltage Technology Center. UPM performed quite well on certification, test, measurement and application of high voltage technology, on which, NCEPU could deepen the complementary cooperation with UPM.

        NCEPU delegation praised high of the application of intelligent technology during the visit to smart grid and home automation center. Electrical and Electronic Engineering School of NCEPU had already worked with this center for the application of international scientific cooperation program.

      During the visit, NCEPU also held a small job fair for Chinese doctor students in UPM. Ma Xiaoyong introduced the policies and treatment of NCEPU on talent recruitment in detail. He also interacted with nearly 20 doctor students and made introduction for their future career planning. Professor Du Xiaoze attracted the talents for NCEPU by citing his own experience as example.

        This visit had deepened mutual understanding and friendship of two universities and laid a solid foundation for deeper and more extensive cooperation in the future.
