Professor Li Yongping of NCEPU Won the 13th National Award for Youth in Science and Technology

        Evaluation of the 13^th National Award for Youth in Science and Technology has finished these days. After the recommendation of NCEPU, initial score of Ministry of Education, review and approval of the Evaluation Committee and the Steering Committee of National Award for Youth in Science and Technology, Li Yongping, professor of Energy and Environment Research Center of NCEPU was selected for the honor. There are 99 outstanding youths in science and technology who won this award, among which, only seven candidates were recommended by Ministry of Education.

         The National Award for Youth in Science and Technology is an award set up and organized jointly by the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, Ministry of Personnel and China Association for Science and Technology for youth in science and technology. The award is set up to nurture a group of young foregoers on research and technology, commend and reward the young talents in science and technology who have made outstanding achievements on China’s economic development, social progress and scientific and technical innovation.

        With the experience of studying and working at home and abroad, Professor Li has gained the master and doctor degrees of University of Regina in Canada. He is the deputy director of Energy and Environment Research Center, processor, doctoral tutor and winner of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. Professor Li mainly engaged in the research on risk analysis and optimal management of energy and environment system, with 162 SCI papers, more than 1500 citations of SCI and a SCI-H index of 21. He has also been rewarded as the Outstanding Young Scientist of International Environmental Information Science Academy, Outstanding Graduate of University of Regina, first prize of Natural Science Award of Ministry of Education, New Century Outstanding Talent and Outstanding Self-paying Oversea Student of Ministry of Education. Besides, he also serves as president of an international academy branch, International Expert of United Nation Development Program on water safety, associate editor of an international SCI magazine, editorial board member of six international magazines and guest editor of five international SCI magazines.

        With the National Award for Youth in Science and Technology, NCEPU has made another great breakthrough on national talent award declaration since the launch of its “Big Talent” strategy. NCEPU will further improve the cultivation, introduction of high level talents and the declaration of talent program and fully implement the objectives of “Big Talent” strategy in the future.
