NCEPU Made Steady Progress in the Ranking of Chinese S&T Papers Published in 2012

As showed in the Statistical Data of Chinese Scientific and Technological(S&T) Papers, NCEPU made steady progress in the ranking of Chinese S&T papers published in 2012. Of all the higher education institutions, NCEPU ranked 45 in the amount of S&T papers published on CSTPCD, 83 on SCIE, 41 on EI and 8 on CPCI-S.
  
In 2012, 1342 pieces of literature from NCEPU were recorded in CSTPCD. And the number of papers under Article and Review archive was 1160, ranking 45 among all the higher education institutions. The amount of papers was basically equal to that of 2011 and 2010 and the ranks rose 30 and 36 places respectively. Papers of NCEPU had been referenced 5812 times in 2012, ranking 56 among all the higher education institutions and increasing 1321 and 1717 times when compared with 2011 and 2010, with the ranks rising 9 and 16 places accordingly.
  
The amount of NCEPU’s literature recorded in SCIE was 393 in 2012, among which, the number of papers under Article and Review archive was 391, 1.3 times of that in 2011 and 2 times of that in 2010. While the rank of NCEPU in SCIE was 83, having risen only 6 places compared to last year. It means other higher education institutions also made big promotion in producing papers of this kind.
  
From 2007 to 2011, the 213 pieces of SCI papers of disk version published by NCEPU had been cited 480 times, an average cited frequency of 2.25. While from 2006 to 2010, NCEPU’s 161 pieces of SCI papers of disk version were cited 427 times, an average cited frequency of 2.65.The average cited frequency declined 18%, which means NCEPU need to further strengthen the world competitiveness and influence of its SCI papers published during the past five years.
  
In 2012, NCEPU published S&T papers with a persistent improvement on quantity, quality and academic influence in China. But more work is needed to improve its academic influence in the world.
