We Got Gold Medal on the 4th Session of National College and University Creative Science and Technology Design Competition on Environmental Protection

        From Bao Ding: On June 2nd, the fourth session of national college and university creative science and technology design competition finals on  environmental protection was held in South China University of Technology. The team "Loving Gutter Oil Best" formed by the students Zhang Ning, Zhang Shuo and Wei Song from our university got gold medal with outstanding performance.

        More than 6000 students forming 829 teams from 87 colleges and universities including Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Xi'an Jiao Tong University, University of Science and Technology of China, and North China Electric Power University, etc participated in the competition. Based on expert review of the review committee, the team "Loving Gutter Oil Best" from our university entered top 16, advancing to finals.

        Numerous creative works flourished at the scene of the finals. The work of our team Feasibility Study on Gutter Oil Modification Used for Transformer Insulation Oil stood itself out from all the other works. During the process of the competition, our project was highly appraised by judges and experts from the Resource Planning Working Group of the United Nations Environment Programme, the British Consulate General in Guangzhou Climate Change and Energy Office, South China University of Technology, Total Group of France, etc. They also encouraged the students from our university to continue promoting the project and made an appeal to the whole society to work together to practice low-carbon life and to heighten our environmental awareness so that we can protect the environment that we humans need to survive.

        Among the 69 works sent for the competition from our university, we got a total of one gold medal, one silver medal, 2 bronze medals and 4 winning prizes. Furthermore, our university honorably won the excellent organization prize for the competition.
