Baoding Campus Won Prize in the Second Provincial Competition of Engineering Training Comprehensive Ability for College Students

        News from Baoding: Mar. 8 to 10, the Second Provincial Competition of Engineering Training Comprehensive Ability for College Students, also known as the Third Session of National Competition Preliminaries of Engineering Training Comprehensive Ability for College Students (Hebei District), which sponsored by the Department of Education in Hebei Province, was held in Hebei United University. Five teams of Baoding Campus participated two contests included the shape of "S" and "8" Slalom, and won four First Prizes, one Second Prize in total. In "S" Slalom, the three participating teams of our school respectively won the first, second and fourth place; “Team One of Rear-driving Slalom”, guided by teacher Xing Dixiong, made up of three team members You Taiwen, Tang Rui, and Deng Jiade in Mechanics Department, won by a large margin (a total score 568 points of two rounds) in the competition and obtained the First Prize because of their excellent performance.

        According to the results of the competition at the provincial level, Competition Organizing Committee selected the best teams to attend the National Competition on behalf of Hebei Province. The competition will be held in Dalian University of Technology in June, which means that our teams have obtained national qualification of the competition with their excellent results.

        The National Competition of Engineering Training Comprehensive Ability for College Studentsis held by Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education. It is a national college students' science and technology innovation contest. This contest’s theme is "carbon-free car obstacle race", by moving the heavy hammer to transfer potential energy into kinetic energy to drive the car; the number of crossed obstacles determines each team’s performance.

        The students who were selected from the School’s Internal Competition to participate Provincial Competitionmade thorough preparation, and they focused on problems exposed in Internal Competition and continuously improved the car on structure design, manufacture and debugging in order to strive for the best. The competition has fully shown that our school’s National level Engineering Training Center Construction had took effect in training our students' engineering practices and innovative abilities, also, the competition showed the spirit of the students in our school.
