Report of the 2013 NPC & CPPCC Sessions Spirit Given by President Liu Jizhen as National Committee Member of CPPCC

        On March 15^th, a report was given by president Liu Jizhen, national committee member of CPPCC to convey the spirit of the “Two Sessions” for study.

        The meeting was organized in form of two-level theoretical sessions. All school leaders in Beijing, all cadres at division level, all democratic party personage, representatives of people’s congress of Beijing and each districts, members of CPPCC, representatives of faculty attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by secretary of the party committee Wu Zhigong.

        Wu pointed out that the study and implementation of two sessions’ spirit further strengthen the study of spirit of 18^th National Congress of CPC. The meeting is of great significance to the construction of a top-level university and to every faculty members of NCEPU.

        President Liu Jizhen gave his interpretation on Report on the Work of the Government 2013 andReport on the Work of Standing Committee of CPPCC, and introduced proposals and voices in the “Two Sessions”. He also elaborated on his proposal entitled Prompt Formulation of Standards on the Construction Land of Universities and Its Role as Reference for Local City Construction Planning.

        During the “Two Sessions”, President Liu was interviewed by about 20 media including China Daily, Xinhuanet, Guangming Daily, China National Radio, China Education Daily, CETV, Workers’ Daily, China Energy News, China Electric Power News etc. covering hot topics like employment of university students, beauty of China, reform of China higher-education system.

        In conclusion, Wu pointed out that president Liu’s participation in the “Two Sessions”, as a representative of NCEPU, marks a great stride in building a top-level university and his speech, by referring to the work reports, proposed specific projects to meet the need of the development of China energy and electric power. We should make conscientious review on the basis of fully study to foster new projects, new modes and new policies. Only by so, could we achieve new fruits and advance the construction of a top-level university.
