Contestants from NCEPU Achieve New Resplendence in the “Huawei Cup” National Mathematical Modeling Contest for Postgraduates

       Recently, the 9^th “Huawei Cup” National Mathematical Modeling Contest came to a successful end. Fifty six teams from our university participated in the contest, among which 40 teams who got one first prize, eight second prizes and seven third prizes were from Beijing campus, and 16 teams who got one first prize, five second prizes, and seven third prizes were from Baoding campus. Their achievements were among the best in all the contestants.

       Two thousand five hundred and seven postgraduates including 380 doctoral graduate students from 246 cultivation institutions for postgraduates of 29 provinces, cities and municipalities participated in the Contest that started in September. The “Huawei Cup” National Mathematical Modeling Contest for postgraduates was designed to improve the quality of the cultivation, strengthen the problem-solving capability of the students, and nurture the scientific attitude, rigorous academic style, and the sense of innovation and the spirit of teamwork. It provides an efficient platform for the students to solve actual problems, launch academic communications and enhance academic capabilities.

       NCEPU has long been attaching importance to the cultivation of the students’ capability to make innovations, and sticking to the principle of “Pursuing Innovative Mode, High Quality, University-enterprise Cooperation and Unique Development”. NCEPU encourages students to participate in various kinds of academic contests to improve their innovation capacity and teamwork spirit, create sound academic atmosphere and strengthen their academic capability.
