The Theme Activity of Chen Yibing“Be Your Own Champion” & The Funding Ceremony of “Another Long March of Green Power ” Held at NCEPU

        On the evening of Nov.29^th, Olympic champion Chen Yibing attended the “Be Your Own Champion” theme event and the “Another Long March of Green Power” funding ceremony was held in the auditorium of NCEPU.

        Deputy Secretary of Party Committee Hao Yingjie, Secretary of Youth league Committee Lin Changqiang, Director of the Alumni Office Nie Guoxin, Executive Vice Secretary-General of the Foundation of NCEPU Wang Zijie, Vice Secretary of the Party branch of the School of Humanities and Social Science Wang Shuo warmly met with Mr.Chen Yibin, and Yang Zhaojing, the Vice-Secretary of the Alumni Office and the CEO of Beijing Zhaoruiheng Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd. Prof. Hao Yingjie introduced the development of NCEPU, asked Chen Yibing about his studying and training life and Yang Zhaojing about the operation of her company and at the same time expressed his gratitude for their support given to the “Another Long March of Green Power”. Prof. Hao also said that as the Olympic Champion, Chen Yibing paid great attention to programs and projects for public good, manifesting the kindheartedness and the sense of responsibility of the young people. Besides, Prof. Hao gave high praise to Yang Zhaojing for sponsoringthe “Another Long March of Green Power”and encouraged all the students and staff to learn the spirits and actively participate in the “Another Long March of Green Power” project to pursue good research results for the honor of NCEPU.

        Later, the guests awarded the assisting fund to the four research teams of the “Another Long March of Green Power” project that will set off in the winter vacation.

        And the “Be Your Own Champion” interview won the hearty welcome of the audience.

        During the interview, Chen Yibing expressed his opinion on programs of public welfare undertakings. He said what really matters was not how large the program or project was, but whether you wanted to contribute to the public welfare undertakings or not. He also said that as a post graduate student of Beijing Normal University, he was glad to have this opportunity to visit NCEPU and wanted to communicate with the students. When it came to the difference between studying and training, he said that though he was skilled at sports, but there was much room for improvements in his course studying, and this was why he always went to study in his free time.

        When talking about his achievements, he said he owed all his achievements to the spirit of persistence and his good management of the body. In spite of the tough training, he maintains sound living habits and he has never drunk or smoked because he “knows what he should do”. He also encouraged the students to take more exercises and lead a healthy life.

        Chen has already been relieved when talking about the unfair scores he got in the London Olympics and he said that the affirmation and recognition he got in the past twenty three years was the most precious thing. “All that has happened belongs to the past and what we should do now is to move ahead.” he said in the end.
