NCEPU Convened the Video Meeting on Science and Technology Working

       On November 28, NCEPU convened the video meeting on science and technology working. Vice President Yang Yongping attended and presided over the meeting. Vice President Wang Zengping, heads of all schools and departments, full-time directors (deputy directors) of scientific research platform and relevant staffs of Science and Technology Research Institute also participated in the meeting.

        Liu Mingjun, Deputy Director of Science and Technology Research Institute reported the current situation on the science and technology working and completion of scientific research fund in all schools and departments. Until now, seven of 10 units from Beijing Campus have accomplished the task. Meanwhile, two of 13 units from Baoding Campus have finished the task. The whole university has accomplished 72% of the whole year plan on the scientific research fund. Tan Qinliang, Executive Vice President of Science and Technology Research Institute delivered a report on the preparation situation of the science and technology meeting of NCEPU in 2012.

        Vice President Yang Yongping pointed out in his speech that the nation put forward that the innovation of science and technology propels the development. The whole nation should put science and technology innovation in the strategic core place. In the recent years, the scientific working has achieved rapid development. The overall situation of it is good this year. All these have an inseparable relationship with the endeavor of entire faculties. However, we should also aware that we still have a gap with the goal of building a high level university. It is very hard to achieve the strategic goals set at the 12^th Five Year Plan. We still have a lot to do to accomplish the objectives of this year. Vice President Yang Yongping put forward six requirements- awareness is premise, thought is emphasis, talent is key, system is guarantee, culture is foundation and action is end-result. He hoped that all schools should always adhere to the scientific research, further expand the influence, enhance the plan design and put into practical action.

        Vice President Wang Zengping hoped that all schools and departments should attach great importance to scientific research. We should realize that only through scientific research can build a high level university. We should further enhance integrated construction of Beijing Campus and Baoding Campus and promote the personnel exchange and interaction and scientific resource sharing. We can put the whole scientific level to a new stage with same heart, direction and strength.

        The main heads of School of Renewable Energy, School of Control and Computer Engineering, Department of Electric Engineering and Department of Mechanical Engineering summarized the successful experience on the scientific organization of their own units. They also analyzed the existing problems and shortage and put forward the specific measures on team organization, project endeavor, talent introduction and enterprise cooperation.
