Delegation Led By Vice President Wang Zengping Visited University of Bath and University of Strathclyde in UK

        From November 18 to November 24, delegation led by Vice President Wang Zengping visited our important partners-University of Bath and University of Strathclyde, conducted wide exchange on scientific research, talent training as well as communication and cooperation and reached a series of common view on cooperation. Liu Shi, Head of School of Control and Computer Engineering, Liu Xiaofang, Secretary of Party General Branch of School of Nuclear Science and Engineering, Li Yang, Secretary of Party General Branch of International Education Institute, Liu Jianfu, Deputy Director of International Cooperation Department and relevant staffs also participated in the visit.

        At the University of Bath, Professor Kevin Edge, Executive Vice President, Professor Colin Grant, Foreign Affairs Vice President, Professor Gary Hawley, Head of Engineering and Design School, Professor Nick Mitchell, Director of Electronic and Electric Engineering Department, Professor Li Furong, doctoral supervisor of Electronic and Electric Engineering Department, Doctor Martin Balchin, the senior lecturer expressed their sincere greetings and warm welcome to the delegation of our university. Both sides showed the interests in further expanding the cooperation on mechanical design based on the current cooperation program of electric engineering and automation for the undergraduates and conducted friendly and deep exchange on the cooperative training program of graduates and high level cooperation of scientific research.

        On behalf of University of Bath, Professor Kevin Edge, Executive Vice President expressed the warm welcome for our visit. He introduced that University of Bath has ascended to the forefront in the latest ranking list of UK. He spoke of the 2+2 cooperation program on electric engineering and automation between University of Bath and our university. He also put forward ardent expectations for the students who directly entered the doctoral candidate period in University of Bath after finishing the undergraduate course through this program.

        On behalf of our university, Vice President Wang Zengping expressed his sincere gratitude for their warm welcome. From 2011 to 2012, University of Bath has been rated as the Annul Best University in UK by Sunday Times, which not only shows the strong teaching and research capacity of University of Bath, also represents its significant role and good praise in the mind of English people. He delivered that NCEPU, as one of the “211 Project”universities and“985 Project Predominant Discipline Innovation Platform”, always regarded the internationalization as our key target. He expressed his pleasure for the fruitful achievements between the two universities in the 2+2 cooperative program of electric major for the undergraduates. He also hoped that we can conduct long-term and vertical cooperation and obtain breakthroughs in the high level scientific field.

        Professor Gary Hawley, Head of Engineering and Design School detailed introduced the structure and fruits achieved by Engineering and Design School of University of Bath. He hoped that his school can launch cooperative program in mechanical design field. Doctor Martin Balchin, the senior lecturer introduced the study and living conditions for 2+2 students of our university in the University of Bath. The delegation earnestly listened to their introduction and conducted meticulous and deep exchange.

        On November 21, Vice President Wang Zengping and other delegation members visited University of Strathclyde. The delegation conducted warm and friendly meeting with Professor Kenneth Miller, Vice President of University of Strathclyde, Professor Scott MacGregor, Head of Engineering School and Professor Stephen Marshall, Deputy Head of Engineering School, Professor Martin Judd from Energy and Environment Research Institute and Doctor Wang Tao, Lecturer from the department of   electric and electronic engineering.

        After the meeting, Vice President Wang Zengping cordially met with the students from 2+2 cooperative program of The Class of 2009 and 2010. Vice President Wang Zengping pointed that as one of the overseas student from NCEPU in UK, you should always remember you are a Chinese and your words and behaviors represent the Chinese image as well as the image of NCEPU. He hoped everyone can work hard, live happily and successfully finish their studies. After hearing the ardent expectation of Vice President Wang Zengping, the students showed that they will try their best to live up to the hopes from their parents, leaders and teachers, keep in mind that they are the overseas students from NCEPU and always remember the spirit of NCEPU“Advancement through development of key disciplines, Improvement through talent recruitment, Revitalization through scientific research, and Prospering through highlighting strengths”. They will work hard and devote themselves to the construction of the motherland.

        Vice President Wang Zengping and other delegation member also visited the engineering laboratory of University of Strathclyde.
