Delegation Led by the President of Shanghai University of Electric Power Visits NCEPU

        On Nov. 23^rd, a delegation of twenty people led by Mr. Li Hexing, the President of Shanghai University of Electric Power and his assistant Pan Weiguo visited our university.

        On eleven o’clock in the morning, President Liu Jizhen, Vice President An Liansuo and the Assistant President Yin Chengqun attended the discussion with President Li Hexing.

        During the discussion, President Liu showed his gratitude to the support given by the Shanghai University of Electric Power and also gave a detailed introduction of the history and development of our university, especially the achievements and experience in subject construction, talents cultivation and international cooperation after our university began to be administrated by the Ministry of Education and relocated in Beijing. Both sides expressed their hope to enhance communication and strengthen cooperation, make contributions to the higher education and the development of the new-energy industry and promote the sound and fast development of both universities.

        President Li also showed his admiration to the achievements that our university had made in recent years. He pointed out that NCEPU had made irreplaceable contributions to the talents cultivation and the scientific research. Besides, he said that NCEPU and Shanghai University of Electric Power had launched various communications and cooperation and he did hope that both sides could take this opportunity to promote mutual understanding and further cooperation and establish a convenient platform for the scientific development of the higher education and the power industry in the new economic situation of China.

        During the discussion, both sides also exchanged ideas on how to accommodate to the demand of the development of the power industry and how to improve the quality of the talents cultivation mode.

        Before the discussion, the leaders of Shanghai University of Electric Power visited the State Key Laboratory of New Energy, the laboratories in School of Energy, Power and Mechanical Engineering, and the National-level Biomass Power Generation Equipment Engineering Laboratory.
