The 44th Track and Field Sports Event Held in Baoding Campus

       During October 12^th and 13^th, the 44^th track and field sports eventwas held in Baoding Campus.

 

 

       The school leaders and the principals of the functional departments and colleges attended the opening ceremony. The leaders are including Wu Zhigong, Zhang Jinhui, Li Shuangchen, Hao Yingjie, Sun Zhongquan, Wang Zengping, Zhang Tianxing, and principal assistants Mi Zengqiang, Yin Chengqun, Lv Fangcheng, and Guo Xiaofeng.

 

 

      The opening ceremony was held by the vice-president Wang Zengping.

 

       On the 12^th morning, the opening ceremony began at 8 o’clock, with the warm welcome from the spectators. The school badge square team paced into the race course firstly under the lead of the flag bearer Shi Dongpeng. Shi Dongpeng is one of the well-known national hurdle racers who enrolled as a 2012 graduate in NCEPU. Then, the departments’ square teams and athletes entered the sports ground in order. Along with the impassioned marching song, they manifest the sportsmanship with their orderly formation and inspiring slogan.

 

 

       On the ceremony, Wu Zhigong, the secretary of the party committee and director of school commission for physical culture and sports delivered the opening speech. In the speech, he mentioned that actively carrying out physical activities not only contribute to arousing the teachers’ and students’ enthusiasm of taking physical exercises to promote their physique and health, but also is helpful in fostering participants’ sense of bravery, strong will and team cooperation spirit. This plays an indispensable role both in individual development and university cultural construction. He emphasized that the first-level university should accompany with the first-level physical education construction. The high-level physical education construction not only reflects school’s comprehensive strength, but also demonstrates school’s great image to popularize its reputation and make contribution to national sports cause.

       During this school year, the students from NCEPU made excellent achievements in many competitions. Gan Xue won the 16^th National Fitness Campaign—Climbing Mount Tai (International Invitational Tournament) in 2011 and several other famous Mount-Climbing Campaigns in women group in 2012. The school football team won the National College Students Football Game in Hebei province and 2011 Hebei College Students Football Game. The school aerobics delegation group won 2011 National Aerobics Game in Hebei province and Hebei Aerobics Elitist Match. Track and field athletes made great achievements in the 17^th Universiade Hebei this year. Besides, Shi Dongpeng, the national well-known hurdle runner and other excellent athletes will continue their study in NCEPU, which will certainly promote school sports level and drive sports cause into a new stage.

       Wu Zhigong, the director of school commission for physical culture and sports emphasized that this sports event is the inspection of teachers’ and students’ sports level and achievements, as well as vigorous promotion of school quality-oriented education. And furthermore, this is the comprehensive display of all teachers’ and students’ spiritual features. He summoned the teachers and students carry forward NCEPU spirit and welcome the successful opening of the 18^th People’s Congress of PRC with great spiritual features and excellent achievements.

       Later, the representative of athletes Xie Tianwen and the representative of referee Zhang Xiaolong took an oath respectively.

 

 

       Along with Wu zhigong, the secretary of the party committee and director of school sports committee announcing the open of the event, some students released the balloons to celebrate the event.

 

 

       On the ceremony, the teachers and students watched the wonderful and marvelous shows. The group drums show Chinese Dragon representing health and passion brought the teachers and students with strong feelings, and the actors’ orderly movements and the grand scene expressed the youth vitality completely. Also, children group calisthenics show Forward and other shows were well received.

       With two-day fierce competition, the department of economic management, department of electric power and department of automation are listed as the first three. Besides, Zhou Zijie broke the school record of male high jump and long jump and Fan Meng broke the school record of female high jump. The top three of the teaching and administrative staffs are sub-labor union of department of economic management, sub-labor union of department of electric power and sub-labor union of department of automation.

  

 

       The 44^th track and field sports event ended in a satisfactory way at 4 p.m. in 13^th. The school leaders and the principals of the functional departments and colleges attended the closing ceremony and awarded the winning groups and individuals. The leaders are including Zhang Jinhui, Wang Zengping, and principal assistants Mi Zengqiang, Yin Chengqun, and Guo Xiaofeng. The closing ceremony was hosted by Li Dong, the vice-director of school party office.

 

 

       Zhang Jinhui, the deputy secretary of school party committee, vice president and vice director of school commission for physical culture and sports delivered the closing speech. He said that sports embodied men’s pursue and practice of integrated development. College physical education is an important carrier of school quality-oriented education and cultural construction, which is of significant meaning to students’ comprehensive quality improvement and development. During the sports event, the teachers and students showed their participating enthusiasm and good wishes. All the athletes tried their best under the guidance of the Olympic Spirits, that is, faster, higher and stronger, all the staff and referee are justice and strict with chariness and responsibility and all the spectators obeyed the orders and cheered for the athletes. All these reveal the spiritual features that a high level college should hold. Moreover, he expressed that though this event is over, the sports spirits will be everlasting and the teachers and students should continuously take sports exercises and pursue self-improvement. He also expected that all labor union and student organizations carry out mass sports activities and establish the idea that health comes first to provide the teachers and students with more opportunities to do physical exercises and gain better constitution and enrich school cultural activities.

 

       The 44^th track and field sports event successfully ended in the chorus of NCEPU school song.
