"Training Courses on Modern Power System Technology and Operation” for Developing Countries concluded

       On the morning of October 10, the 30-day "Training Courses on Modern Power System Technology and Operation” completed all the training tasks and held the graduation ceremony on Baoding campus. Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of NCEPU Zhang Jinhui attended and addressed the ceremony. Deputy Director of International Cooperation Department Liu Jianfu presided over the graduation ceremony.

 

 

       In his speech, Zhang welcomed the participants on behalf of North China Electric Power University and expressed his sincere thanks to the hard work of the faculty and friends on the training project. He also expressed his warm congratulations to the 27 successful trainees from developing countries. He said, under the guidance and assistance of Ministry of Commerce and Hebei Provincial Department of Commerce and with the joint efforts of trainers and students, the 30-day "Training Courses on Modern Power System Technology and Operation” gained complete success. The project not only exerted NCEPU’s advantages in teaching and research, but also met the requirements of the trainees. Furthermore, it was welcomed by major power enterprises. The training realized win-win cooperation with good results, and wrote a new chapter for power industries in China and other countries to enhance mutual understanding, expand exchanges and deepen cooperation.

 

 

       Zhang pointed out that it is a scientific thesis proved China's reform and opening up development practice that "power goes first in economic development”. Development of power industry is essential to the improvement of people’s living standard and is the only way to revitalize the economy. It is the most important issue how to improve the level of the power industry in developing countries where industry is relatively weak. In the development process of the power industry, China has experienced imperfection, improvement and then stability, reaching the currently maturity. China has gained a lot of experience and learned many lessons, which can be taken as reference by other developing countries. China is very willing to share its experience and lessons in the power industry and help other developing countries promote power industry in a higher starting point and a better platform.

       Zhang said that North China Electric Power University, with strong research and teaching strength, cultivates a large number of talents for China's power industry, which makes it the "cradle of Chinese electrical engineers”. NCEPU focuses on personnel training and technological innovation, and pays close attention to the forefront of international technological development to guarantee that the development of China's power industry keeps in the international leading level. As the organizer of this foreign aid training program, NCEPU fully performed its duties, prepared training programs and made reasonable arrangements for training courses. All teachers and project management professionals dedicated to the project and ensured the smooth operation of the training.

       Zhang also acclaimed the 27 trainees as the technology experts and management elites of power industries for their own countries. They studied hard with diligence and completed the teaching tasks effectively. Their simplicity, goodness, wisdom and humor impressed everyone. The training helped them cross the boundaries of languages ??and cultures and forge profound friendship. He was very pleased to celebrate the graduation of colleagues in power industry and hoped that they would become outstanding NCEPU alumni. He also hoped that they could keep in touch and continue to exchange experiences, share achievements and seek common development. They would become friendly contacts and set up a bridge of cooperation between China and their countries.

 

 

       Mr. White from Antigua and Barbuda spoke on behalf of all trainees. He spoke highly of the organization and implementation of the training courses, saying that he enjoyed happy time in China. He said, the trainees’ countries have different levels of development and structures of the power industry, own different experiences, and face different challenges. They all benefited from the experience of China's growing power technology. The training courses integrated a wealth of theoretical knowledge and practical experience. With this project, the trainees gained in-depth understanding of modern power system construction and operation. During the training, the students were lucky enough to visit a lot of power enterprises to understand the production capacity of many power equipment enterprises and witness the most advanced power technology in China. They learned that Chinese government attaches great importance to environmental protection, and is vigorously building solar, wind and other renewable energy power stations. They were shocked by China’s achievements in technology and operation of modern power system. The training courses would be a rewarding experience, and they would make every effort to facilitate their cooperation with China in the power sector and to establish friendly and cooperative relations.

 

       In the end, leaders attending the graduation ceremony presented certificates to the students. They also exchanged commemorative gifts and posed for pictures.

 

 

       It is learnt that all of the 27 participants from 15 countries got certificates from the training courses. During the training, the participants studied the technology and operating principle of modern power systems and visited Beijing Sifang Power Automation Co., Ltd., Beijing Qingchang Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd., Beijing Jinchuang Union Gas Meter Co., Ltd., Tianjin Electric Power Corporation, Tianjin Hechanglu Intelligent Substation, Baoding Yingli Group, Baoding Tianwei Group, Baoding Electric Power Company and many modern power enterprises.  They also visited Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, Mancheng Han Tombs, Zhili Governor Office and many other monuments.

       Deputy Director of Principal's office Li Dong, head of the Power Department Zhao Shuqiang and staff participated in the graduation ceremony.
