NCEPU Achieved Outstanding Results in Fifth National Network Business Innovation Application Contest for University Students

       On September 17, the Fifth National Network Business Innovation Application Contest for University Students, organized by the Internet Society of China and supported by the Ministry of Industry and Information and Ministry of Education, was concluded at the Student Activity Center of Beijing Normal University. After assessment by the Contest Board composed by domestic and foreign industry professionals as well as university experts, five teams from NCEPU entered the National Final and won two first prizes, two second prizes and one third prize in undergraduate group, better than the achievements in last session, which was two first prizes and one second prize, With the outstanding performance of both students and teachers, NCEPU not only won the "Award for Outstanding Organization Institutions”, but also received the “Innovative Guidance Institutions Award” (Only 16 universities received this award). Six teachers, including Liu Jicheng, Tang Pingzhou, Tian Huiying, Huang Minfang, Wang Yi and Qu Bindeng won the awards for "Outstanding Instructors” at the National Final.

       The excellent results should be attributed to strong support from school leaders at all levels. Deputy Director Liang Guangsheng and Wei Liwen from the Academic Affairs Department showed constant concern on the contest. Dean of the School of Economics and Management Niu Xiaodong, School Party Secretary Lu Wei, Deputy Dean He Yongxiu and Deputy Secretary Zhang Bing attached great importance to the contest and cheered for all the players. In the National Final, Professor Liu Jicheng, Associate Professor Tang Pingzhou, Associate Professor Tian Huiying and Wang Yi from the Information Management Department cheered for the team members at the scene, which greatly encouraged all team members.

        Since its beginning in March, the Contest received a total of 150,000 student registrations from over 2,200 colleges and universities nationwide. After preliminary assessment, 1,935 teams entered the semi-finals and 851 teams from 214 colleges and universities won awards at regional finals. The assessment boards of all regions chose 230 teams from more than 140 colleges and universities for the National Final. The Undergraduate group included 170 teams from 94 universities. 79 teams of them came from the 211, 985 undergraduate institutions (including Qinghua University, Beijing Normal University, Nankai University, Tianjin University, Northeastern University, Tongji University, Beijing Jiaotong University, NCEPU, etc.). The junior college group was composed of 67 teams from 50 vocational colleges.

       After the preliminary round, a total of 21 teams from NCEPU entered the semi-finals, and then 11 teams entered the finals for Beijing Region. Five teams were listed for the National Final. (26 teams from Beijing Region were listed for the National Final).

        At the National Final, NCEPU students made excellent performance. The “E Chat Bar" and "On_the_Way" projects won the first prizes; the "Almighty Haier" and "Relationship E-pass"  won the national second prizes; and the “Haier Brothers Ideal” team won the third prize.
