Students from NCEPU Baoding Campus Won the Special Reward of the 5th National University Student Social Practice and Science Contest on Energy Saving & Emission Reduction

       Message from Baoding Campus: A few days ago, the 5^th National University Student Social Practice and Science Final Contest on Energy Saving & Emission Reduction was held in Xi’an Jiaotong University. It was hosted by Higher Education Division of Ministry of Education, jointly hosted by Teaching Steering Committee for Energy and Power Discipline in Higher Education Institution of Ministry of Education and Xi’an Jiaotong University. The relevant leaders attended the opening and closing ceremony, including Professor Cen Kefa, academician of CAE (the Chinese Academy of Engineering), Professor Tao Wenquan, academician of CAS (the Chinese Academy of Sciences), Li Yangzhe, Director of the National Development and reform commission Energy Saving Center, and Professor Yang Yongping, vice president of NCEPU.

        As one of the competitor with strength, our representative has already entered the Final Contest for the 5^th time. During the competition, vice president Yang Yongping came to the competition spot in person, encouraging the teachers and students to do their best and to gain great grade. After blood-and-thunder competition, the work from Baoding Campus A γ-type Sterling Heat Pipe CPU Cooler showed itself among the 2059 pieces of works from 203 colleges and universities, winning the Special Reward. It is for the very first time that our representative won this reward in all previous contests, and it is for the first time that a university within Hebei province won this reward. At the same time, student works also won 3 Second Awards, 4 Third Awards and Outstanding Organization Award.

        National University Student Social Practice and Science Final Contest on Energy Saving & Emission Reduction is the national extracurricular competition of science and technology works hosted by the Higher Education Division of Ministry of Education. It is an important move of implementing all people energy saving and emission reduction scheme and the main content of school energy saving and emission reduction scheme. The contest is one of the national undergraduate competition of leading, demonstrative, innovative and practical function, taking “energy saving & green energy” as its theme, “developing and popularizing energy saving and emission reduction awareness, improving science and technology innovation capability” as its aim. Our university attaches great importance to the contest, therefore lots of star teachers took part in this contest: Professor Han Zhonghe, director of dynamic department, Professor Jiang Genshan, secretary of general Party branch of mathematic and physics department held the post of academic advisor, and Doctor Li Bin, vice director of dynamic department acted as the leader of our representative team. Their careful guidance provide powerful guarantee for our great success.
