President Liu Jizhen made keynote report at 2012 Electrical Engineering College (University) President Forum

       The “2012 Electrical Engineering College (University) President Forum”, co-sponsored by the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering (CSEE) and the China Electrotechnical Society (CES) was held on July 31th, 2012 at the South China University of Technology (SCUT), Guangzhou. CSEE Secretary General Li Ruomei, CES Vice Chairman Yang Qingxin, Honorary Dean of SCUT Electric Power Institute Li Licheng, President of North China Electric Power University (NCEPU) Liu Jizhen, President of Qinghai University Liang Xidong, Deputy Director for Personnel Department of China Southern Power Grid Company,Wang Xinxin, Director of Electrical Science and Engineering Discipline under Engineering and Materials Science Division of the National Natural Science Foundation Ding Lijian, Deputy Dean of NCEPU　Electrical Engineering School Zhao Shuqiang, together with over 70 school principals (university presidents) and business representatives, attended the Forum. President Liu Jizhen was invited to attend the forum and make the keynote report.

       President Liu Jizhen presented a report entitled "Rethinking Comprehensive Improvement of Personnel Training Quality - Standard, Law and Mechanism”, pointing out in that it is the core mission of all universities and colleges to improve the quality of education. In years of practices in engineering education and personnel training, North China Electric Power University gained profound understanding of the fundamental standard for education quality, "promoting comprehensive development of student" and "adapting to the needs of the society". NCEPU made personnel training as the main line, advanced reform and innovation adapting to social demands, promoted the overall development of students and achieved continuous improvement of the education quality. Liu also introduced the reforming practices in talent training mechanism at NCEPU.

       During his stay in Guangzhou, President Liu Jizhen was also invited to meet with Vice Governor of Guangdong Liu Zhigeng, Chairman and Party Secretary of China Southern Power Grid Company. Zhao Jianguo and General Manager Zhong Jun. Deputy General Managers of China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd. Wang Jiuling, Wang Liangyou and He Xiqiang also attended the meeting.

       On invitation of Guangdong NCEPU Alumni Association, President Liu visited some of NCEPU graduates working in Guangzhou. He also met with Vice Chairman Shi Yubo and Chief Engineer Yang Kun of the State Electricity Regulatory Commission, who were inspecting work in Guangdong Province at that time. Liu expressed his thanks for their care and support to the university construction and development, and encouraged the alumni to make greater contribution to society and the country in their respective positions.
