Secretary Wu Zhigong Attended the Seminar of NCEPU Education Foundation

      NCEPU Education Foundation held seminars about the mutual development of university and university foundation in Beijing and Baoding campus from April 6^th to 28^th, 2012. The three issues included: “the relationship between the development of university foundation and high-level university”; “the relationship between subject, scientific research and the development of university foundation”; “the relationship between educational college and the development of university foundation”. Chairman of foundation, Secretary of CPC of NCEPU, Wu Zhigong, Vice Chairman Lei Yingqi, Sun Pingsheng, Li Heming, Vice Secretary Zhang Jinhui, and other more than 50 related leaders attended the seminar.

      In the seminar, Chairman Wu Zhigong pointed, “The experience of first-rate university indicates, university foundation is the important platform for the development of high-level university, especially under the broad background of rapid market economy development. In order to encourage the diversity of the funding source, China gives much support to universities for getting the social funding. Therefore, in the development of education foundation of NCEPU, it is important to consider how to grasp the precious historical opportunity, and maximize the function of the education foundation in the development of university. Therefore, it is necessary to collect the creative ideas from different schools and departments for the mutual development of education foundation and university.

      Vice Chairman Sun Pingsheng said that the Foundation made a preliminary result in 2011, but there existed a gap between it other domestic famous universities. Therefor, it was necessary to make an scientific plan, study the operation mode of the University Foundation   seriously and condense distinctive projects to promote the development of university and University Foundation.

      Secretary General Chen Zhaojing made development plans, financing schemes and work arrangements for Foundation's 2012 business. He also highlighted the Alumni Care Fund of the Foundation.

      The departments and functional divisions discussed the issues ardently. They stated that, the University Foundation provided significant and long-term funding source for high-level universities, and it was beneficial for the development of disciplines, departments, universities and the country. The development of University Foundation was closely with that of high-level universities, and world-class university should be funded by world-class University Foundation. University Foundation was still in its infancy, therefore, the formulation of policies and development routes guided its future development. For the healthy and rapid development of University Foundation, it was important to condense projects, have different positions for appropriate fund development projects and set up fund development projects according to requirements of potential fund-raising party.

      Chairman Wu Zhigong concluded that, the Foundation, as an important public undertaking, not only increased social impacts and enhanced financial strength of NCEPU, but also fully embodied important functions of NCEPU in serving the society. Therefore, we should grasp historic opportunity and build the platform to promote harmony development of the Education Foundation and other undertakings.
