NCEPU’s Engineering Disciplines Listed in ESI World's Top 1% Ranking

     According to the data published by ESI data base on March 1st, 2012, NCEPU’s engineering discipline is listed in ESI world's top 1% ranking. Altogether 1217 universities, science and research organizations are included in ESI engineering world's top 1%. In terms of the number of published articles, NCEPU ranks No. 514 in the world, No.40 in the mainland, and No. 10 in the non-985 universities.

      ESI data base is the basic analysis evaluation tool founded by ISI, the world famous academic information publishing organization in 2001, whose aim is to appraise science and research performance and track scientific development trend. It is a measurement analysis database depending on 10 million records from the world’s more than 11000 academic journals collected by Web of Science of Thomson Reuters (SCI-E/SSCI). ESI counts SCI-E and SSCI data base’s dissertations from all the universities, science and research organizations of the world. Within this update, the science and research organizations whose number of cited dissertations is in world's top 1% in recent 11 years could get into ESI academic rankings. ESI has already become one of the important evaluation tools in the world which is generally used to evaluate the international academic level and influence of the universities, academic organizations, countries or regions.

     Based on the characteristics of disciplinary development, ESI establishes 22 subjects: agricultural science, biology and biochemistry, chemistry, clinical medicine, computer science, economics and business studies, engineering, environmental science/ecology, geological sciences, immunology, materials science, mathematics, microbiology, molecular biology and genetics, multidisciplinary, neuroscience and behavioral study, pharmacology and toxicology, physics, botany and zoology, psychology/psychiatric science, introduction to social sciences and space science.
