NCEPU’s 21 Applied Projects for 2012 Hebei Natural Science Fund Approved

      Report from Baoding campus:On April 16, according to “Notice about signing Entrusted management contracts and submitting the proposals for 2012 Hebei Natural Science foundation projects”  21 Applied projects by NCEPU scholars were approved, of which one was funded by Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, 13 General Program, and 7 Young Scholar fund.

      In 2012, the number of approved projects and success rate of NCEPU hit a record high. In 2011, 17 terms were funded; in 2012, the number increased 23.5%. At the same time, there was an 12% increase in success rate from 16% in 2011 to 28% in 2012. The above-mentioned achievements are not only attributed to the improved quality of the applications, but closely related to our university’s emphasis on reviewing the Project proposals. Of the 21 funded projects in 2012, 14 are in the field of material science and engineering, and 5 in chemical and new energy, which indicates the competitive strength of NCEPU in the two fields.

      In recent years, with the improvement of scientific research level, the funded projects of NCEPU remarkably has increased on both level and number. Based on the professional feature of our university which takes engineering as principal major, Hebei Provincial Natural Science fund becomes one of those that we give priority to, aside from National Natural Science Fund. And the trend of changes in the number of funded projects is also a reflection of the research ability of NCEPU scholars to some extent.

      This year, the breakthrough fully reflects that NCEPU, guided by the demand of the local district and electric power industry, takes a dominant position in the core technology of such fields as New energy and renewable energy, Uhv and intelligent power grid, energy saving and environmental protection. It also means that the plan to build a research-oriented university is being carried out.
