Secretary Wu Zhigong Attended the Opening Ceremony Of "Harmonious Cup" Basketball Competition

     At 12:30 on April 10, the opening ceremony of the 21st "Harmonious Cup" basketball competition, sponsored by the China Minority Economic and Cultural Development Corporation, was held at the NCEPU basketball court as scheduled. This is a traditional competition in NCEPU aiming to enrich student's leisure time and promote the school group activities. It is also lay a solid foundation for high-level basketball team.

       Wu Zhigong, Secretary of the NCEPU Committee of CPC, Du Songpeng, Chairman of Beijing Sports Association of University, and Lv Yingxia, Vice President from China Minority Economic and Cultural Development Corporation attended the opening ceremony.

      Secretary Wu Zhigong made a speech in the ceremony. He expressed sincere thanks to Beijing Collegiate Athletic Association as well as affirmed the achievements of group activities. Then he gave his expectation that the athletes should strive for success tenaciously in the competition, perform well and display fine sportsmanship.

      Subsequently, Chairman Du Songpeng addressed in the ceremony. He hoped that students will hold the policy of “Exercise one hour a day, work healthily for 50 years, and live a whole happy life” in mind and further demonstrate their contemporary mental outlook.

      Finally, Secretary Wu and Chairman Du kick off the game in person. Zhang Ruiya, Secretary of Commitee of Youth League, Cao Yunhua, Secretary of the Department of Physical Education, Yu Xihai, Vice Director of Party School Office and President Office, Li Wenzhong, Vice Dean of Department of Physical Education and over one hundred representatives from each department  also attended the opening ceremony.
