The Graduation and Degree-awarding Ceremony for 2012 was Held in NCEPU

      On March 30^th and 31^st, the graduation and degree-awarding ceremony for 2012 was held both in Beijing and Baoding campus of NCEPU.

     School leaders Wu Zhigong, Liu Jizhen, Zhang Jinhui, An Liansuo, Li Heming, Li Shuangchen, Yang Yongping, Sun Pingsheng, Sun Zhongquan, the assistant principal Yin Chengqun, persons who in charge of each school and related department, supervisor representatives and graduates that fulfilled their academic work successfully attended this ceremony.

      The ceremony was presided over by Vice President Yang Yongping.

      Firstly, An Liansuo, Vice President and Vice Chairman of Academic Degree Evaluation Committee presented committee’s decision on the degree-granting. Through the decision from the third session of 12^th and 13^th conference, the committee awarded the doctor degree in engineering for 75 graduates, doctor's degree of management for 21 graduates, master’s degree of economics for graduates, master’s degree in law for 23 graduates, master’s degree of art for 34 graduates, master’s degree in science for 28 graduates, master’s degree in science engineering for 1095 graduates, master’s degree of management for 161 graduates, master’s degree of science for 875 graduates, master’s degree in teacher of higher education for 33 teachers, master of business administration (MBA) degree for 118 graduates.

      Secondly, the staff member presented the lists of NCEPU Outstanding Graduates Students and Outstanding Dissertation winners. Moreover, a total of 107 postgraduates won the title of 2012 Outstanding Graduate Students graduating in spring and 36 postgraduates were awarded the Outstanding Graduate Students of Hebei Province. The NCEPU Outstanding Dissertation Award went to 8 Ph.D theses and 31 master dissertations. The university leaders awarded representatives of Outstanding Graduate Students and Outstanding Dissertation winners certificates of merits, meanwhile they presented diploma to graduate representatives.

      Chairman of the evaluation committee & President Liu Jizhen made a speech titled “Be conscientious in work, be down-to-earth in life” in the ceremony. President Liu gave his congratulations to all graduates including 31 doctoral students, 1,596 masters and 245 on-the-job professional graduates on behalf of the school, and expressed thanks to teachers who contributed a lot to their grownup, as well as parents and relatives who cared their study and life.

      President Liu said that NCEPU had made a lot of progress in the course of constructing high level university since the 2012 session graduates came. Currently, China’s higher education has changed the focus from denotative into connotative development. Therefore, it is the most essential and urgent task for the reform of China’s higher education to construct a powerful nation in higher education and to elevate its quality. Being the primary part of constructing the high-level universitiy, NCEPU has stuck to the idea of “innovate modes, elevate quality, college-enterprise cooperation, and characteristic development”,deepening joint training modes and mechanism of the featured industry-university-research integration and graduate workstation.

      Last September, NCEPU founded the Graduate School officially, providing a better platform for refining discipline direction, gathering talents and strengthening scientific and technological innovation. Graduate students graduating in the spring of 2012 issued 2549 research papers altogether, including 546 pieces in authoritative journals, SCI, EI, and ISTP, and 193 patent applications. PhD students published 7 dissertations per capita, containing 4 papers in authoritative journals, SCI, EI, and ISTP per capita, among which 8 students achieved scientific and technological awards in or above provincial and ministerial level, and applied for 10 patents. The development and achievements of NCEPU were the harvest results from all NCEPU members tackling tough, uniting and forging ahead.

      President Liu put forward three wishes to the graduate students. First, he hoped that with political integrity and ability, they should learn and strive to become the ambitious young people. Second, he wished that bearing the unity of knowing and doing in mind the students need to boldly engage in practice, keep on learning and strengthen abilities in practice. Third, he encouraged the students to pursue truth and innovation, and constantly climb a new career peak to realize life value.

      Supervisor representative, dean of the Economic and Management Department Niu Dongxiao and Li Bingshui from Politics Department delivered speeches respectively. They hoped that the graduates would down-to-earth and strive constantly, continuing to make contribution and bring honor to their alma mater, and create a better future for NCEPU altogether.

     Representatives of graduates He Xiangyan and Chen Xiaofang addressed that for them graduation meant to the beginning to shoulder social responsibilities endowed by the times. They would advance bravely and create their own splendidness in different fields. Meanwhile they would take NCEPU Member as their commonly proud names, and NCEPU would be their eternal spiritual home.

     Student representatives in school Liu Siwei and Lu Hao said in their speeches that, as juniors, they would never forget senior’s love and help. They would take the outstanding graduates as examples and make unremitting efforts to build high-level university for a bright future of NCEPU.

     At the ceremony, chairman of NCEPU Academic Degree Evaluation Committee, Liu Jizhen conferred degrees to the doctoral students and postgraduates, President Liu also expressedhisardent congratulations.

      Finally, all present officials, supervisors, students and relatives expressed hearty congratulations to all the graduates with warm applause.

      After the ceremony, the graduates took photos with school leaders, supervisors, classmates and relatives in the campus, experiencing the move and miss, and treasuring the parting feelings in heart forever.
