NCEPU Signed up Agreement with CSG

        On the morning of March 7th, Zhao Jianguo, Secretary of Party Committee and Chairman of China Southern Power Grid (CSG) led a delegation to NCEPU, and CSG and NCEPU signed up the  University-Enterprise Cooperation Framework Agreement.

 

 

        The signing ceremony was held in the multifunctional hall in the main building. Secretary of the NCEPU Party Committee Wu Zhigong, President Liu Jizhen, and Zhao Jianguo, Secretary of Party Committee and Chairman of CSG, attended the ceremony. Present at the ceremony were Wang Liangyou, Deputy General Manager of CSG, Jiang Yi, President Assistant and Personnel Department Director, Yu Jianguo, Deputy Chief Engineer and Chairman of China Southern Power Grid Research Institute, academician Li Liying, Director of China Southern Power Grid Research Institute Committee, Yu Peishuang, Director of General Office, Luo Ticheng, Director of Human Resource Department, Huangfu Xuezhen and Xue Wu, Director and Deputy Director of Production Technology Department respectively, university leaders Zhang Jinhui, An Liansuo, Li Heming, Li Shuangchen, Hao Yingjie, Yang Yongping, Sun Pingsheng, Sun Zhongquan, President Assistants Zhang Lizi, Lv Fangcheng and heads of functional departments and schools as well as student and faculty representatives. The ceremony was presided over by Vice President Yang Yongping.

        In the signing ceremony, President Liu Jizhen and Deputy General Manager Wang Liangyou delivered speeches successively.

 

 

        President Liu pointed out that as the leading central enterprise among the Fortune 500 companies, CSG bears social, economic and industry responsibility, practices the core value of “light of million homes, love from CSG”, positively carries out the strategies of “Transmitting Power from the West to the East” and “China Western Development”, promotes interaction among eastern, middle and western region and coordinated growth among different regions, which fully demonstrates the sound image of such a well-known electric power enterprise.

        Furthermore, Mr. Liu said that CSG and NCEPU had been cooperating for a long time. Since reform of electric power organizations in 2003, CSG, as one of NCEPU council, had provided strong support and assistance to NCEPU. In recent years, NCEPU and CSG had jointly undertaken many national major programs and made remarkable achievements in tackling key sci-tech problems and collaborative innovation.

        He also stated that, under guidance of the Ministry of Education, NCEPU developed rapidly with support from power enterprises, regarding serving national strategic needs as major responsibility and mission.

        Featured by its own characteristics, NCEPU would closely meet requirements for development of electric power, construct characteristic discipline of “Greater Power”, positively take part in national innovation system construction, undertake “973”, “863”, “major support” and “international cooperation” programs in extra-high voltage, smart grid, renewable energy, power electronics, protection and security defense of greater power grid. NCEPU had achieved remarkable results, which played a supporting role in power industry development of China.

        NCEPU had built harmonious relationship with power industry for the past many years, seeing serving energy power industry as responsibility. After establishing the development strategy of “university-enterprise cooperation” in the new century, NCEPU implemented strategic cooperation with several large-scale power enterprises. In 2011, the research fund exceeded 500 million, among which 60% was from power enterprises.

        The fast development of electric power industry called for talents and technology support. Thus, university-enterprise cooperation was significantly important for collaborative development of the two sides.

        In addition, President Liu said that the agreement was a vital move to implement national technology innovation, an important action for collaborative innovation of university and enterprise. Signing up this cooperation agreement, NCEPU and CSG would push cooperation into a new phase.

        President Liu also sincerely hoped that cooperation between NCEPU and CSG would lead to greater achievements in the future.

 

 

        Deputy General Manager Wang Liangyou expressed in the ceremony that the signing of university-enterprise cooperation framework agreement marked that cooperation had reached a new height.

        Mr. Wang Liangyou said that as the only national key university featured by electric power discipline affiliated with Ministry of Education, NCEPU was reputed as “Huangpu Military Academy in electricity field”, listed as one of the “211 Project” universities with “Excellent Engineers Training Plan”. NCEPU had built characteristic disciplines for serving electric power industry. With a large number of high-level professional talent teams and scientific research platforms, NCEPU had won universal praise from all walks of life, making great achievements in electricity and related fields.

        Mr. Wang Liangyou said that Chairman Zhao Jianguo had paid much attention to science and technology innovation and personnel training. CSG closely combined power grid planning with actual demand of construction and operation, vigorously developed scientific research and personnel training, and actively constructed the open technology innovation system combing production, study and research.

        In such a key period for new development, CSG raised higher requirement for technology innovation and talents construction. Mr. Wang was eager to deeply cooperate with NCEPU in science and technology innovation and talents training, and hoped CSG would continuously improve and develop by taking advantages of talents, intelligence, science and technology innovation of NCEPU.

       Wang Liangyou looked forward to substantial achievements for cooperation. He believed taht the university-enterprise cooperation framework agreement between CSG and NCEPU was a new attempt for the two sides to set up research and innovation alliance, which would in turn deepens bilateral cooperation in scientific and technological research and high-level personnel training and plays a greater role in promoting scientific development of China’s power industry.

 

 

         Deputy General Manager Wang Liangyou and Vice President Li Heming signed up the agreement on behalf of CSG and NCEPU in pleasant music. The principal leaders of the two sides witnessed the signing ceremony.

 

 

        President Liu Jizhen expressed sincere gratitude and warm welcome to CSG Chairman Zhao Jianguo who visited NCEPU with his colleges for cooperation during the NPC and CPPCC sessions.

        Mr. Zhao thanked NCEPU for support to CSG, and he was glad to visit NCEPU teachers and students on behalf of nearly 3000 NCEPU graduates who served in the CSG. He wished the two sides would carry out more extensive and deeper cooperation in professional techniques, economy, management and talents cultivation through the agreement, and make contribution to security, economic operation and sustainable development of CSG and finally to China’s power industry.

        President Liu agreed with Chairman Zhao’s insights. He said that NCEPU would shoulder the responsibility to promote national economic and social development in national innovation system construction and the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education. He hoped CSG and NCEPU would launch closer and more comprehensive cooperation in power development and grid operation, carry out collaborative innovation, and play a greater role in mutual progress and development.

 

 

        Accompanied by President Liu and other university leaders, Chairman Zhao Jianguo and his delegation visited State Key Laboratory of Alternate Electrical Power System with Renewable Energy Sources and High Voltage and Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory, whogained an in-depth knowledge of subjects setting and scientific research progress in relevant fields, and discussed and exchanged ideas with the technicians.
