NCEPU Students Achieved Good Results in China Mathematical Contest for University Students

        Reports from Baoding Campus: The Third China Mathematical Contest for University Students (Beijing Site) and the 22^nd Beijing Mathematical Contest for University Students posted the results recently. Five students from NCEPU Baoding Campus were awarded first prize of Beijing area, including You Qiang, Li Rui, Zhang Xinyi, Han Jiayu and Yang Xia. Another four students won second prize, and five got third prize.

        The China Mathematical Contest for University Students, hosted by Chinese Mathematical Society, is a scientific contest for national college students. It aims to cultivate talents, serve teaching, promote curriculum reform and establishment of mathematics in universities, increase students’ interest in math, develop their ability to analyze and solve problems, as well as discover and select creative talents in mathematics. By building a platform for students to show fundamental knowledge and logical thinking, the contest provides opportunities for colleges and universities to examine their teaching level and exchange teaching experiences. Over 4300 students from more than 40 universities, such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Beijing University of Post and Telecommunications and so on, participated in this competition. 130 students won first prize, 184 got second prize and 306 acquired third prizes. In the contest, 20 students from NCEPU Baoding campus strived to win 5 first prizes, 4 second prizes and 5 third prizes, which demonstrated active spirit and won honor for NCEPU.
