First State Key Laboratory of NCEPU Founded

        On October 24^th, NCEPU held a launching ceremony for State Key Laboratory of Alternate Electrical Power System with Renewable Energy Sources.

 

 

        Attended were Peng Yiqi, Deputy Director-General of Department of Basic Research of Ministry of Science and Technology, Chen Yinghui, Deputy Director-General from Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Education, Wang Jing, Deputy Director from Division of Base Administration of Ministry of Science and Technology, Yang Renquan, Director of Policies and Regulations Reform Department of Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Guo Weidong, Director of Sci-tech Platform Construction and Basic Research Department of Hebei Science and Technology Agency, Zhao Guangjing, Deputy Director of  Science and Technology Department of the State Grid Corporation of China, Zhong Luwen, Deputy Director of Science Department of China Guodian Corporation, Yan Xinrong, Director of  Science Division of China Huadian Corporation, Cui Zhiqiang, Director of Science Division of Science and Information Technology Department of China Power Investment Corporation, members of Academic Committee of State Key Laboratory of Alternate Electrical Power System with Renewable Energy Sources, including academicians Huang Qili, Li Licheng, Cheng Shijie, Yang Qixun  and professors Guo Jianbo, Min Yong, Chen Weijiang, Wang Yupeng and Liu Jizhen, Wu Zhigong, Secretary of NCEPU Committee of CPC, other university administrators, and representatives of all departments and laboratories. The ceremony was chaired by Yang Yongping, Vice President of NCEPU.

 

 

      On behalf of NCEPU, Wu Zhigong, Secretary of the CPC expressed warm welcome to all guests, and extended sincere thanks to all leaders and experts who had contributed to the construction of the laboratory. Secretary Wu considered that the establishment of the State Key Laboratory of Alternate ElectricalPower System with Renewable Energy Sources, the first state key laboratory of NCEPU, not only marked an important step forword for NCEPU in the state innovation, but also a brilliant breakthrough in discipline construction that created an excellent opportunity for the development of NCEPU. He said that the university would guarantee the construction of the laboratory with special policy support from various perspectives so as to promote discipline construction, talents cultivation and scientific innovation.

 

        Peng Yiqi, Deputy Director-Generalof Department of Basic Research of Ministry of Science and Technology expressed sincere congratulations to the remarkable progress NCEPU had made.  He hoped that NCEPU would carry out basic research in a down-to-earth manner, continuously make contribution to economic, social and technology development, cultivate more talents and take the lead in many research fields, and make use of the laboratories to promote science and research.

 

 

      Chen Yinghui, Deputy Director-Generalof Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry Of Education, extended thanks to the Ministry of Science and Technology, Beijing People’s Government, Hebei People’s Government and all enterprises that promote development of NCEPU and other universities.

 

 

 

      Subsequently, Peng Yiqi and Chen Yinghui then unveiled the plaque of State Key Laboratory of Alternate Electrical Power System with Renewable Energy Sources, and issued the letter of appointment to the commission members.

 

 

      Yang Renquan said on behalf of Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission that they would attach much importance to intelligence resources of universities and hope NCEPU would promote economic and social development of Beijing.

 

 

      Guo Weidong considered NCEPU could make much contribution to promotion of sci-tech innovation and development of renewable energy industry, and Hebei Science and Technology Agency would continue support NCEPU in construction and development.

 

 

    Guo Jianbo believed the state key laboratory in NCEPU must be of significance for scientific research in renewable energy, and said that China Electric Power Research Institute would further cooperate with NCEPU in innovation in electric power and renewable energy.

 

 

      Yang Qixun, academician of Chinese academy of engineering, promised that all staff of the state key laboratory would work hard to make contribution to basic research in renewable energy, construction of an innovative nation and development of higher education in China.

 

 

      President Liu Jizhen, Director of State Key Laboratory of Alternate ElectricalPower System with Renewable Energy Sources, said that the launching ceremony of the first state key laboratory was a milestone that marked a new stage in discipline construction, and so NCEPU  would make every effort to ensure its construction with sufficient resources and talents. He required staff to devote themselves to scientific research, and called for other staff to offer possible support. With continuous hard work, NCEPU would achieve the goal of building a high-level university and then constructing an innovative nation with such a high-quality state key laboratory.

 

 

 

      Finally, Vice President Yang Yongping summarized that with much attention from governments, institutions and other universities, NCEPU must accomplish various tasks in scientific research of the first state key laboratory with high quality and high standard.
