The Delegation from North Korea Hamhung University of Water Conservancy and Power Engineering Paid a Visit to NCEPU

    On June 15th, the delegation from North Korea Hamhung University of Water Conservancy and Power Engineering paid a visit to NCEPU, President Kim Young Dae led the delegation, accompanied by Dean Shin Kyung Il，School of Hydraulic Engineering, Dean Han Moon Ho of School of Marine Engineering, Dean Gang Whee，School of Electrical Engineering, Dean Lee Ca Il，School of Mechanical Engineering, Dean Park Ca Won，School of Information Engineering. NCEPU President Liu Jizhen met with the delegation, Director Liu Yongqian， International Cooperation Department, Vice Dean Fu Guangzhong，School of Energy, Power and Mechanical Engineering, Vice Dean Li Meicheng，School of Renewable Energy and Zhao Zijian from International Cooperation Department also attended the meeting.

  
    At the beginning, President Liu briefly introduced NCEPU and the current situation of China’s energy industry development. Later, President Kim Young Dae introduced Hamhung University of Water Conservancy and Power Engineering. Founded in September, 1959, it is the cradle of science and technology talents of water conservancy and power engineering in North Korean. There are schools of electric power, machinery, information, water conservancy, marine in the university, as well as doctoral school, research base, library, publication house and laboratories, with about 6000 students. Subsequently, Vice Dean Fu and Li introduced School of Energy, Power and Mechanical Engineering and School of Renewable Energy respectively. North Korean delegation spoke highly of the achievements NCEPU had made in all aspects.

    After the meeting, under the guidance of Vice Dean Li Chengmei, North Korean delegation visited the laboratory of Renewable Energy School, and left good and deep impression on it.

    In the end, the two sides signed a cooperation agreement in a friendly atmosphere. Both sides expressed they would strengthen cooperation in scientific research, teacher exchanges and jointly training students.

    On the next day, the delegation of Hamhung University of Water Conservancy and Power Engineering paid a visit to Baoding Campus. Accompanied by Vice director Liu Jianfu of International Cooperation Department, they visited Simulation Control Laboratory. A teacher from Automation Department introduced the function and target of the laboratory to the guests in detail. Then, led by Director Xie Hong of the library, the guests visited the electronic reading room, foreign magazines room and electronic retrieval room, and praised the library’s excellent hardware and software facilities.

    Later on, accompanied by Dean Zhao Shuqiang of Electric Engineering, North Korean delegation visited dynamic simulation laboratory, new energy laboratory, high voltage laboratory, electric atomization laboratory and electromagnetic compatibility laboratory. Director Zhao introduced the teaching staff, curriculum and students teaching situation of the school. Then, the guests visited the modern communication technology laboratory and the comprehensive electronic technology laboratory of Department of Electronic and Communication Engineering and the refrigeration laboratory and the turbine hall of Department of Power Engineering.

    On June 18th, the delegation of Hamhung University of Water Conservancy and Power Engineering finished the visit to NCEPU.
