NCEPU Students Achieved Good Results in 2011 China Underwater Robot Competition

    "2011 China Underwater Robot Competition and the First Underwater RobotInternational Tournament” was held at the Southwest University for Nationalities from May 20th to 22nd. 128 teams from 25 universities in Netherlands, South Korea as well as China participated in the contest. Led by teacher Yu Mei, a team of four students from NCEPU Control and Computer Engineering School participated in the competition, and they won two first prizes and three second prizes.

 

 

    Underwater robot is an interdisciplinary cutting-edge research area, incorporating technology integration of such areas as information, automation, machinery, communication, transduction, makings and energy. It plays an important role in the promotion of scientific and technological progress as well as the development of national economy. Because of its integrated high-tech competitiveness, robot competition has become an important platform for cultivating innovative talents, popularizing robotics and producing robot industry opportunities. Also, it helps students develop practical abilities and a spirit of innovation and cooperation, and has a positive influence on the innovation of personnel training concepts and personnel training modes in colleges and universities.
