Representatives from the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Visited NCEPU

    On May 9th, representatives from IET, including Mr. Ian Mercer, Global Operation Director and Zhao Lulu, China Business Development Manager, visited NCEPU. School leaders, including Li Chengrong, Vice President of NCEPU, Liu Yongqian, Director of International Cooperation Department, Liu Shi, Dean of Control Science and Engineering School, Zhao Huiru, Vice Dean of the Graduate School and Wang Xueping from NCEPU Training School, received the visiting guests.

    At the beginning of the reception meeting, Vice President Li Chengrong first gave a brief introduction of NCEPU, and then, Mr. Ian introduced IET to all the presenters. He said that, IET is one of the world’s leading professional societies for the engineering and technology community, with 150, 000 members in 127 countries all over the world. Its predecessor IEE (Institutions of Electrical Engineers), founded in 1871, was one of the renowned professional engineering societies in the world.
 
    Mr. Ian hoped that IET and NCEPU would establish long-term stable cooperation, and that with the efforts of IET fellows in NCEPU, IET would attract more talents from NCEPU. IET would also promote the Engineer Certification Program in China, covering such areas as electric power, communication, control technology, electronics, information technology and project management, etc. Vice President Li said that he was vey happy to establish cooperation with IET, and that relevant departments would work together to further promote the cooperation.

    The meeting ended in a friendly atmosphere.
