A Party of Seven Swedish Biomass Authorities Visited North China Electric Power University

    On the afternoon of January 17th, 2011, a party of seven authorities, including Professor Erik Dahlquist of the Swedish Mlardalen University and Mr. Sven of Swedish Energy Agency came to our university for a visit. Vice President Yang Yongping met with the Sweden delegation, Director Liu Yongqian of the International Cooperation Office presided over the meeting, and the teaching staff of the National Engineering Laboratory for Biomass Power Generation Equipment attended the meeting.
    Vice President Yang Yongping extended a warm welcome to the Sweden delegation, and Director Liu Yongqian of the International Cooperation Office introduced the basic situation of North China Electric Power University. Professor Erik presented the purpose of this visit to our university, and hoped that the two sides could strengthen cooperation in the field of biomass energy. Mr. Sven of Swedish Energy Agency and China-Sweden Energy Cooperation Project introduced the cooperation between China and Sweden in the field of energy and biomass energy.
    Professor Erik introduced the research situation of Mlardalen University in the field of biomass gasification and regional energy self-sufficient system. Senior researcher Eva Thorin of Mlardalen University introduced the EU program (remowe: biogas and waste recycling) and biomass moisture detection program. Mr. Rebei Bel Fdhila, senior researcher of ABB Company and a part-time professor of Mlardalen University demonstrated the research achievements in the flow field simulation of biogas fermenter and heat and mass transfer.
    The EU program coordinator Mr. Clas Tegerstrand of Mlardalen University introduced the EU eighth framework project. President Adam Brannstrom of Energy and Environment Company of Eskilstuna City and Ms. Jenny Holgersson introduced the waste disposal and energy production integrated solution, the existing problems and the alternative scheme of Eskilstuna City. Mr. Zhuang Huiyong of National Bio Energy Co., Ltd introduced the current situation of biomass power generation industry in our country. Lu Qiang, Li Jihong and Zheng Zongming of the National Engineering Laboratory for Biomass Power Generation Equipment respectively introduced the research situation of our university in the fields of biomass thermal transition, biogas and its high-value utilization, liquid bio-fuels and biochemical products. Mr. Xu Gang of the School of Energy and Power Engineering introduced NCEPU’s research progress of carbon dioxide collection in electric power plants. After the meeting, the delegation visited the National Engineering Laboratory for Biomass Power Generation Equipment. Both sides agreed that they had great cooperation potential in biomass energy field.
