President Liu Jizhen Met with Fu Huimin, Vice Chairman of the Revolutionary Committee of the Kuomintang

Liu Jizhen，President of North China Electric Power University (NCEPU) met with Fu Huimin, member of national CPPCC, Vice Chairman of the Revolutionary Committee of the Kuomintang, Vice Chairman of Beijing municipal CPPCC in the VIP room in the administrative building on June 23rd. Present also were Yu Xueying （Standing member and Deputy Secretary General of Beijing municipal CPPCC and Vice Chairman of the Revolutionary Committee of the Kuomintang in Beijing）. President Liu introduced to the delegation about the history of NCEPU, the establishment of the “greater electric power” discipline, the growth of the new energy discipline and the cooperation carried out with the local government.

    As the only “211” project university specializing in energy and electric power, NCEPU has achieved a lot in improving the discipline system, modeling talent cultivation, and implementing scientific and technological innovation in the past 50 years. In line with the developing trend of world energy and requirements for power and national economic and social development, NCEPU has proactively constructed a “greater electric power” discipline system which is based on the traditional advantageous discipline, focused on the new energy discipline and propped by the arts and science disciplines. Specifically speaking, it meant to strengthen the traditional advantageous disciplines, pay more attention to the building of new energy disciplines, and speed up the development of disciplines such as hydropower, wind power, nuclear power, solar energy and biomass energy to set up the first renewal energy school in China and apply for the complete set of biomass power generation equipment national engineering laboratory. On the way to a high level university, NCEPU also played an active role in the construction of new national innovation system, serving the local economy, jointly working with Beijing Changping District government in the building of the “Beijing New Energy Science and Technology Industry Base”, as well as cooperating with Baoding Municipal government in the field of new energy such as wind power generation equipment and energy manufacture to support the development of the “China Electric Valley”.

    Vice Chairman Fu Huimin expressed his appreciation over the achievements of NCEPU. He expressed that the Revolutionary Committee of the Kuomintang have kept a keen eyes on the development of the world energy, especially that of new energy of China. Currently, new and renewable energy features the trend of the world energy. It was of great importance for NCEPU to seize this opportunity and score such amazing achievements. He wished NCEPU more progress in the field of new energy and that the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Kuomintang would give strong support to this university in this issue.
