Symposium on University-Enterprise Cooperation in Major Fields and Major Energy Projects in National 12th Five-Year Plan Held in NCEPU

In order to foster cooperation on major research areas between university and enterprise, study the energy development strategy in national 12th Five-Year Plan and make plans for the discipline building and scientific research of this university,, NCEPU called for a symposium themed on University-Enterprise Cooperation on Major Fields and Major Energy Projects in National 12th Five-Year Plan on June 4. Present were school leaders Liu Jizhen, An Liansuo, Li Heming, Li Chengrong, Yang Yongping, President Assistant Yin Chengqun and Lv Fangcheng, ten academic leaders, personnel in charge of key discipline building of the “211” project’s 3rd phase and the key laboratories, officials from Science and Technology Department, University-Enterprise Cooperation Office, Major Project Management Office and other related schools and departments, 30 experts and professors. The symposium was presided by Vice President Li Heming.

 Professor Zhang Jianhua and Cui Xiang briefly introduced the strategy on energy science and technology in the12th Five-Year Plan and the national funding committee’s planning in the field of energy in the 12th Five-Year Plan respectively. Academician Yang Qixun, Professor Lu Daogang and Tian De exchanged ideas with other experts on the cutting edge technology in related areas, its development as well as the development of their own disciplines. The experts discussed how to win state-level key project to enhance the capability of research doing in major research areas and expressed their determination to grab opportunity and make due contribution in the field of new energy. Chu Jingchun, Director of University-Enterprise Cooperation Office introduced the University-Enterprise Cooperation working pattern and the recent arrangements which would focus on the construction of strong intelligent grid proposed by the State Grid and the setup of new energy science-and-technology innovation system by China GuoDian Corporation.

 Vice President Yang Yongping made a detailed introduction of the latest policies on new energy by the state and Beijing government and highly valued NCEPU’s achievements in participating the national 12th Five-Year Plan. With in-depth analysis of the situation that the university faces, Yang invited related experts from various departments to make more efforts to boost the development of the new energy discipline and science-and-technology innovation and actively participate in the development strategy for new energy by the state and Beijing government.

President Liu Jizhen made a keynote speech. He pointed out that the university is in its transitional period. University-Enterprise Cooperation Office and Major Project Management Office were established to adapt to the changes on the managing and operating system of university and to enforce its development strategyl. The two department-level offices are responsible for coordinating resources within NCEPU..

    Over the last 50 years, especially since the entry of the new century, we have built a “huge electric power” discipline in a provisional and scientific manner, realized extraordinary development in the field of new energy under the guidance of Scientific Development Outlook and gained higher position and more right to speak in many areas. The developing strength and sound reputation of the unviersity was acknowledged by the society. At present, with a favorable climate, geographical position and support of the people, we should seize this great opportunity to carry out the following two tasks: first, analyze the national 12th Five-Year Plan and try to win state-level projects; second, make more endeavor to integrate both the develop strategies of the school and enterprise so as to realize a jointly built platform for human resource and achievements sharing and merits complementing.

    Currently, there are two ongoing cooperation subjects. The first is the new energy strategy of China Guodian Corporation to “realize Guodian Corporation’s industry transformation with new energy industry leading the way”. We would take a series of measures to gain better chance for cooperation. The second is the building of strong intelligent grid of the State Grid. For this subject, we should follow up quickly and find the right point for cooperation. On the whole, we should make good use of the fine cooperation with our board enterprises to further centralize our favorable conditions, coordinate school resource, make provisional plans and form “group army” of school level for these huge subjects. Only by cooperating with famous enterprises on major subjects can we yield substantial results in the years to come.

    It is required by President Liu that by bearing in mind both the development strategies of the state, local area and enterprises,, the related school departments should carry out fine cooperation to supervise and implement plans on organizing team, wining project, jointly building platform and making achievements. Through continuous hardwork, we shall have about 10 innovative teams, win some influential projects, create and develop some platforms and conceive great conception which yields substantial results.
