Professor Gary from University of Bath Visited NCEPU

On March 27th, NCEPU vice president, professor Li Chengrong gave a warm welcome to professor Gary (Dean of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering School of the University of Bath) and his delegation of four. Liu Yongqian, director of the International Cooperation Department and vice director Duan Chunming also attended the meeting.

    The main purpose of Professor Gary’s visit was to give an interview to the students who studied in the program classes since 2007 when they entered this university. At the beginning, Professor Gary spoke with his not-so-influent Chinese “wo men hen rong xing neng yu hua bei dian li da xue xie shou he zuo” meaning “we are honored to cooperate with North China Electric Power University” to express his delight over the cooperation between the two universities. He introduced the academic disciplines, research capacity and infrastructure etc. of the city of Bath and University of Bath. He also stated in details the preparation the University of Bath had made in order to welcome the students who would pursue their undergraduate studies of the following two years at the University of Bath. Vice president Li expressed his appreciation for the efforts they had made,, and he also expressed his hope that the two universities could further cooperation with each other. The two parties also exchanged views on such issues as running program classes, launching joint program research, exchanging visiting scholars and building Confucius Institute.

 

    Built in the year 1966, the University of Bath now has more than 8,000 full-time students, including about 1,500 overseas students from more than 100 countries. Over the years, the University of Bath has always come out on top of the list of the "Top UK Universities" released by independent appraising organizations. In the year 2008, the University of Bath signed an international cooperation agreement with NCEPU. And the two sides will train undergraduates majoring in electrical and electronic engineering. This year NCEPU will send students from the program classes to the University of Bath for the first time.
