A Symposium was held in NCEPU to Celebrate the Teachers’ Day

The 24th Teachers’ Day is around the corner. The Personnel Department, Staff Union, Propaganda Department and Teaching Affairs Department of NCEPU held a symposium to celebrate the Teachers’ Day on the afternoon of 8th October，in order to popularize their treasurable experience of “talent cultivation through teaching, administrating and serving”, to create a “knowledge-valued, talent-respected and teacher-esteemed” atmosphere, and to enhance faculty’s sense of honor, responsibility and mission. Vice secretary of General Committee and secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission Li Shuangchen attended the symposium. Leaders from all departments, advanced individuals in teaching-ethics, “talent-cultivation-in-three-aspect” advanced representatives, and young teacher representatives were also present.

    The representatives of teachers and deputies of functionary departments had a discussion on how to reinforce our teaching ethics construction while building a high-level university, investigating issues deeply and extensively from three aspects: caring students, improving teaching quality, and the relationship between teaching and scientific research. Everyone considered that teaching ethics would play an important role in promoting reputation and influence of NCEPU. Despite some good effect resulting from establishing and supervising relevant mechanism of teaching ethics along with the assessment of Party building, there is still room for improvement in the teaching ethics construction matching with the building of a high-level university. On the occasion of the 24th Teachers’ Day and, the representatives expressed their determination to take the election of “talent-cultivation-in-three-aspect” advanced individuals as a great opportunity to strengthen teaching ethics construction, adhere to teaching-oriented principle, take teaching and educating as a holy undertaking, and make more contribution to the course of education, so as to prove that the honor of “people’s teachers” and their holy responsibilities are well deserved.

    In the end, vice secretary of General Committee and Secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission Li Shuangchen delivered a speech.

    In the first place, VicSecretary Li extended, on behalf of NCEPU, his congratulations on the festival to the faculty. Then, he suggested four ideas on specific work of teaching staff construction, education, and scientific research.

    Firstly, further enhance teachers’ sense of pride and responsibility.

    Secondly, further clarify teachers’ fundamental position in running a school.

    Thirdly, further strengthen encouragement and service for teachers’ work.

    Fourthly, further expand young teachers’ growing path.
