Postgraduates from NCEPU Achieved Good Results in the 4th National Mathematical Modeling Contest for Postgraduates

The results of the Fourth National Mathematical Modeling Contest for Postgraduates were announced recently, three teams from our school have won the prize. Among them Li Meiyan, Wang Shurong, Wu Zeng won the second prize and Wan Fen, Cai Ying, Wang Xiuquan, Zhang Jinfang, Zhen Yongzan, Ji Ning won the third prize.

    Sponsored by the Beijing Aeronautics and Astronautics University, the Fourth National Postgraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling was held in October 2007. It attracted 1206 groups of postgraduates from Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute and other 170 universities from 29 provinces throughout the country entered for the contest. More than 3,600 graduate students participated in the contest.

    “Reform on mathematical modeling innovation capability of the national postgraduates” is an innovation project initiated by the Ministry of Education for postgraduate education. It aims at promoting innovation capability of postgraduates and improving the quality of postgraduate education through various ways such as contests. The National postgraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling has been held for three years, and it has gradually became an effective platform for postgraduates to explore practical problems, carry out academic exchanges, enhance research capacity and develop the awareness of teamwork.
