Seven state-owned electronic power companies and China Electricity Council (CEC) became members of the university council of NCEPU

On December 22, the second council of NCEPU was formally founded in Beijing. To get the support of the whole power industry and pursue further development, with the agreement of related power companies, the new University Council adjusted the council structure and amended the constitution under the proposal of NCEPU and the State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC), the first president unit. Seven electronic power companies and the China Electricity Council (CEC) are now members of the University Council of NCEPU. Zhenya liu, the president of the CEC, the chairman and secretary of branch Committee of the CPC of SGCC, is elected as the president of the University Council for a second term.
The number of member companies of the University Council increased from 7 to 9. Besides the 7 original members, SGCC, China Southern Power grid Corporation, China Huaneng Group, China Datang Corporation, China Huadian Corporation, China Guodian Corporation, China Power Investment Corp, CEC and NCEPU became new members of the University Council.
Members of the University Council are leaders of member companies, HR managers of the seven electric power enterprises and other related directors. There are 19 members in the University Council. CEC’s president is the president of the University Council. Vice-presidents of CEC who are also directors of member companies serve as vice-presidents of the Council. , The position for Secretary General was held by Secretary General of CEC.
The Secretariat of the Council is affiliated to CEC instead of SGCC. Functions of the Secretariat are expanded to “implement the decisions of the Council, keep contact and communicate with member companies, and deal with daily affairs of the Council.” The two vice general secretary are from CEC and NCEPU respectively. The Council provides a platform on which major electric power enterprises could negotiate with each other in the context of power industry of China.
 To ensure smooth operation, the term of the Council was changed from 3 years to 5 years; the annual plenary meeting of the Council and the board meeting of CEC will be held at the same time; members of the Council can serve consecutive terms. A Council member should be replaced by a successor from the member company that he/she works within a term for reasons such as job rotation.
The responsibilities of NCEPU in the council have been further clarified. Main responsibilities of NCEPU include: chief leaders of the university should be responsible for the work of the Council; The Work of the Council should be placed on the agenda of the university and included in the university’s work plan; strengthen the cooperation between the university and member companies of the Council.
