NCEPU is awarded the honorary title of “Model University of Safe Campus in Beijing”

      On February 28th, Meeting of the Special Group for Comprehensive Treatment of Security Issues on and around the Campus of Beijing Municipal Committee for Comprehensive Governence of Social Security, also called Meeting of Maintenance of Security and Stability of Colleges, was held in Beijing National Convention Center. The meeting announced the decision for building “Safe Campus Program” standard schools and model schools. Having passed the assessment of the“Safe Campus Program”, NCEPU is awarded the honorary title of “Model University of Safe Campus Program” and gets a one-million- yuan special reward. Sun Zhongquan, the vice-president of NCEPU, accepted the prize on behalf of the university.

      On December 3rd, 2013, a working team dispatched by the Leading Group for Deeply Advancing “Safe Campus Program” in Colleges and Universities in Beijing inspected and evaluated NCEPU’s work on safe campus building. Based on the discussion result of the Leading Group for Deeply Advancing “Safe Campus Program” in Colleges and Universities in Beijing, Beijing Municipal Education Committee decided that NCEPU had passed the examination of the“Safe Campus Program”

      To achieve more constructive results of Safe Campus building through setting up more advanced typical models to play a guiding role, in accordance with the Scheme for Deepening theBuilding of Safe Campus in Colleges and Universities in Beijing during the 12th Five-Year Plan Period（Beijing Municipal Education Committee [2011] No. 56）, the Leading Group for Deeply Advancing “Safe Campus Program” in Colleges and Universities in Beijing invited experts to review colleges and universities that have passed the evaluation of the“Safe Campus Program” for “Model University of Safe Campus” .With reference to the experts’ review, Beijing Municipal Education Committee decided that NCEPU was one of the “Model Universities of Safe Campus”.

      Maintaining safety and stability of the campus has always been a key emphasis of NCEPU, and is included in the overall development plan of the university by the Party Committee of NCEPU. After launching the initiative to build a “safe campus” at the end of 2012, NCEPU streadily deepened the work of safe campus building through earnestly implementing related policies and regulations, integrating the building of safe campus with the university’s practical situation, and highlighting overall planning and coordination. The University increased input in security technology development, security service, cultivation of safety culture on campus , etc. and improved leadership in emergency disposal and conflict and dispute solution. Party leaders and administrators manage security work jointly. All departments and offices make concerted efforts to maintain safety and security of the campus. As a result, the building of a “Safe Campus” has witnessed remarkable progress.
