President of Esa Unggul University from Indonesia Visited NCEPU

In the morning of 13 June, we had guests from Indonesia Esa Unggul University, including the president Mr Arief Kusuma Among Praja, Mrs. President Suryanti Takarinawati Afrief, vice president Suryari Purnama (in charge of international relations)， vice president Ari Pambudi (in charge of student affairs) and the representative of China affairs Sophie Mou，. Vice president Yang Yongping, deputy director of International Educational Institute (IEI) Duan Chunming and vice director of Department of International Cooperation (DIC) Xu Lingling in NCEPU received the honored guests.
Yang Yongping welcomed all the guests from Indonesia. He mentioned that North China Electric Power University (NCEPU) is affiliated with the Ministry of Education, officially listed as one of the member universities in “211 Project” , which is a new government endeavor aimed at strengthening 100 institutions of higher education and key disciplinary areas as a national priority for the 21st century. Along with a series of distinctive and dominant disciplines, the academic discipline system to serve the power industry is firmly established. Nowadays, NCEPU has ten schools and departments such as Electrical & Electronic Engineering School, Energy & Power Engineering School, Business Administration School, and so on and so forth. He pointed out, “we attach great importance to R&D and already have three experimental platforms at national level; We are glad that you are here to discuss cooperation between us and hope that productive results will be achieved.”

President Mr. Arief Kusuma Among Praja gave his thanks to the warm welcome received in NCEPU and introduced Esa Unggul university. As a private university, it was established in 1993. Right now, the university has ten schools, altogether 25 disciplines catering for graduates and postgraduates. With an enrollment of 11,000 students, it is awarded the best university in South Jakarta. He observed that he really expected to form partnership with NCEPU and carry out collaborations in terms of student exchange, scholar visits and joint research, etc.
Deputy director of IEI Duan Chunming and vice director of DIC Xu Lingling exchanged ideas with president Arief Kusuma Among Praja on the“2+2”education model for graduates and “1+1” education model for post graduates from Indonesia. Finally，MOU was signed between two universities.
