Postgraduate Workstation of NCEPU Honorably Mentioned as “One of theNational Modelling Joint Postgraduate Education Bases for Professional Master of Engineering”

     According to “Notice on releasing the first name list of ‘National Modelling Joint Postgraduate Education Bases for Professional Master of Engineering’” (Gongchengjiaowei[2014] No.8) promulgated by the National Steering Committee for Engineering Education recently, joint postgraduate workstation of NCEPU with Yunnan Power Grid Corporation has been awarded one of the national modelling joint postgraduate education bases for professional Master of Engineering.
     China has carried out postgraduate education reform since 2009, which makes professional degree become the important point, the difficult point as well as the hot point of postgraduate education reform. In order to follow through on the document “Opinions on promoting reform in professional postgraduate education mode” (Jiaoyan[2013]No.3)issued by Ministry of Education and Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, draw lessons from the past, learn from good examples, build better joint postgraduate education bases for professional Master of Engineering, promote the collaboration between professional postgraduate education in engineering and enterprises in the field, enhance the quality of professional Master of Engineering, the Steering Commission conducts the campaignfor the “National Modelling Joint Postgraduate Education Bases forProfessional Master of Engineering”.
    We have accumulated rich experience in base construction and collaboration withenterprises, university and research since we commenced to build postgraduate workstations for joint postgraduate cultivation in 2005. After a series of procedures including qualification verification, application, expert appraisal and vote by the committee, our postgraduate workstation with Yunnan Power Grid Corporation has been elected to be one of the first 28 national modelling joint postgraduate education bases for professional Master of Engineering.
    Over the years, we have kept up with the trend of postgraduate education reform. Relevant departments, schools and supervisors have exerted their utmost efforts in discussion, reform and renovation of training scheme, curriculum, external teaching bases, collaboration with enterprises, university and research, external and internal quality assurance mechanism while giving full play to our advantages in the power industry, which greatly upgrade the quality and essential development of postgraduate education. We will take the award as an opportunity to bring people together, give full play to the supervisors’ role, take the initiative to be innovative, strengthen our efforts in building our modelling joint postgraduate education base and further enhance the quality of our postgraduate education in the new period.
