Chemical and Environmental Engineering Department Was Established in NCEPU

       At present, according to the need of the development of “great electric power” subject system, the Chemical and Environmental Engineering Department was established in Beijing campus. The Schoolof Environment Engineering is responsible for the work of the department’s subject construction. The department implemented administrative independent system andtemporarily established some institutions such as environmental engineering teaching and research section, applied chemistry teaching and research section and complex laboratory. 
      In order to meet the urgent need of the national strategy of sustainable development of social economy and energy environment and provide policy advice, technology support and talent guarantee for better innovation and development of our nation, society and industry, NCEPU established Chemical and Environmental Engineering Department based on the collegeof Environment Engineering , which would further expand subject development space and promote the formation of new discipline growth point.
     Professor Wang Xiangke, the winner of 2012 National Outstanding Youth Science Foundation, serves as the director of the departmentof Chemical and Environmental Engineering and the vice dean of the School of Environment Engineering . Meanwhile, he is also the highly cited scientist in the field of the environment and ecology and the engineering.There are only thirteen scientists in China who are awarded as high cited scientists in two research areas.
     Based on giving full play to the advantages of our characteristic, the department willfurther sharpen its discipline orientation with high starting point and high standard, reduce and avoid repeated construction of existing subjects, bring in much-needed talentsvigorously and excellent teaching staff, strengthen platform construction and play an important role in scientific research in environment and chemistry area and high-quality innovativetalents’cultivation.
